Description
We are Mel & Mark originally from the UK but officially retired and having brought up 4 children have decided to embark on a new adventure and are now living in our lovely home in Italy.
We want to share this region of Italy with more people and give them the opportunity to discover the beauty of this area all it has to offer.
In 2013 we bought our house, along with a two bedroom cottage and overgrown land in Marche, a region that is hardly known about and remains unspoilt by tourism. Our house is a traditional stone farmhouse which from a ruin we have lovingly restored and renovated into a comfortable home.
We love the area and its spectacular landscapes and welcoming people. We are also both foodies and love the local food and wine . We live in our house along with our cocker spaniel Bertie .
We completed the renovations on our house in 2015 however now we are retired we want to do more projects to bring back to life our neglected olive grove and do also some maintenance of our properties ourselves . Our olive grove is very overgrown and left untouched for years.
We are looking to provide volunteers with an experience of living in rural Italy and a comfortable home stay and the opportunity to gain skills in looking after olive trees and making olive oil. In exchange for some help we provide luxury accommodation in our house with a double bedroom with private bathroom and all food and drink in exchange for about 4 hours per day of work.
We look forward to sharing our passion for this area with our volunteers , it’s spectacular scenery and historical and cultural places to visit . From the coastline of the Adriatic to the Sibilini mountains . We can also offer skills in cooking homemade meals if that’s of interest, as well as help with English language conversations.
We are looking for volunteers who are happy working mostly outside and want to learn more about rural Italy and gain some skills in reclaiming , looking after and maintaining olive trees .

In addition it would give you the opportunity to improve your english and also some italian. For those interested can show you how to create delicious meals from scratch which are inspired not only by Italian cuisine but also from our travels around the world.
Help
We are looking for enthusiastic individuals with plenty of common sense, who are fit and healthy and are happy doing physical help which is likely to be outside and who are willing to pitch in with us on our land. No previous experience is necessary although it may help but we do need people who are willing to learn and have the energy and motivation to roll up their sleeves.
