    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We are happy to show you our ways of farming our land and cattle as environmentally sustainably as is possible - given economic necessities. We are also pleased to pass on any local Maori history we know. I am trained Tesol tutor and ex school teacher and can help you with your speaking, reading or writing of English. I enjoy learning new languages from visitors and any musical talents you may have are very welcome.

You can get fitter, more tanned, more dirty, more sweaty when gardening, removing thistles and farm weeds, splitting firewood, maybe fixing fences or some small repairs of a building, if you're able.

There is no local transport - you really really do need your own car. Then you can visit the beautiful beaches for swimming or fishing, or the surf coast for a great walk, or visit the many outstanding landscapes, at your leisure. We can pick you up from the train station in Pukekohe (60kms) or the bus station in Waiuku (40kms) You should get your IRD number and bank account sorted first, we are 40 kms from Waiuku, the nearest town. A weekly Friday night at the local Social Club - with a licensed bar and great dinners - is always good place for a yummy meal and a chat with the locals. Often there are "Music Nights" to go to, or even perform at ! Our daughter, son-in-law and their family live and work on the farm as well. They may also ask for your help. They have great Internet reception at their house, we don't.
