Looking for help from April 2018 onwards!
I live in a rebuild stone barn ( 4 years old)on the shores of the Irish Sea in the beautiful area that is Strangford Lough,a tourists paradise with many stunning places nearby waiting to be explored.
Also a place of special interest for marine biology and a photographers dream location .
I am a retired teacher and artisan (having taught at university level in art and spacial awareness to art and architect studends ) I still paint regularly,and have just had an exhibition of my work in December past, I am prepairing for another this coming December
Music is my other great passions,i play the piano and organ and was choirmaster of the area choir up until a year ago.
I am looking for some help in the house ,mainly preparing healthy meals and some other light household duties .
A new project this year is to create an organic vegetable garden for which large raised bed ( boxes )need to be made.
Ground works at my home still in progress..
At the moment I am recovering from hip replacement surgery and am somewhat curtailed in my mobility and indurance.
I enjoy vegetables and eat little red meat but am willing to try anything once 😊😊
In retun you will have a comfortable bedroom and bathroom,full board and in some cases the use of the car( insurance allowing)
There are 2 mountain bikes here for your use
We are 3 miles from the village.

Mainly shopping and preparation of healthy meals before the surgery and during the recuperation period .( I enjoy vegetarian food but am not a vegetarian )i have to eat food which will help get my iron count up at the moment.,and also trying to gain some weight.

Being able to drive (on the wrong 😊 Side of the road )is an advantage for outings and shopping
If you are interested in art you will be able to express that here.
Helping with the planting of the garden and general chores outside ,if you like being outdoors and want to be out in nature.
In your free time ,you have the beach accross the road ( do bear in mind this is Ireland )
Photographers will be in heaven in this area.,The sunrises and sunsets can be spectacular .
Visitors will have the pleasuse of living in a beautifull home surrounded by paintings and sculpture created by the myself and my late wife.
The area is one of outstanding natural beauty,while rural ,it is only 1 hour from Belfast 2.5 hours from Dublin ,and 1.5/2 hours from the stunning heritage site of the Giants Causeway on the Atlantic coast.( bus tours daily from Belfast ) good hostels in Belfast and on the North coast ( beside the Giants Causeway )
Lots of coastal walks and historic sites to be explored.for enthusiastic walkers .
walkers can spend time in the Mourne Mountains ,only an hour from here,and a fellow host ,willing to give you a bed for the night if you want to make a weekend break of your walking.

A very comfortable ,bright double room in a newly rebuild cosy barn with every modern convenience and the bathroom across the corridor,
Or upstairs in the new bedroom ( twin beds )
There are places of interest all around the lough with large empty beaches and a good chance to see seals basking on the rocks.
A lovely light house nearby ,unfortunally not open to the public.but you can visit the area close by.
There are 2 country houses set in parkland ,open to the public nearby; Castleward and Mount Stewart and a bird sanctuary/ wetlands park.
A beautiful birdhide looking out over Strangford Lough for the bird watchers .especially interesting watching the birds who overwinter here.
Being only 1 hour from Belfast where there is plenty to explore ,including the botanical gardens ,also the site for the very interesting Ulster museum ,beside Queens University, our lovely City Hall,the Titanic building with the history of Belfast and the shipyard ,where Titanic itself was built .
A daytrip or weekend in Dublin might be of interest to you ,the Giants Causeway will leave you with an unforgettable memory of the wild Atlantic coast and the opportunity to visit Rathlin Island and the stunning Antrim coast.
Daily tours go to the North Coast from Belfast visiting some of " the game of throne sites" aswell as the Giants Causeway,Carrick-a-reed rope bridge and Dunluce Castle among other interesting places.
One of the worlds most scenic railway journeys is also accessible from the North Coast; Coleraine to Derry and brings you to the city of culture 2013 with lots of historical sites to explore.
We are not on a public transport route,so someone who drives is very usefull as we are 3 miles from the nearest shop.( we drive on the left hand side here( something to consider)
