We have a beautiful family home set on 5 acres of structured gardens and bush settings. It is located in rural Victoria in the popular wine and spa region near Daylesford. Ballan or Castlemaine are only 30 mins away and the train from these towns will get you into Melbourne in 1 hour. (We can pick you up from either of these railway stations). This area is a great base for exploring this old gold mining area. You can experience the great outdoors by bushwalking, mountain biking, wineries etc!
We are a middle aged couple that love to travel and share experiences with other travellers! We have accommodation for two people. We are looking for enthusiastic people to assist with a range of projects from updating our social media, gardening/landscaping, creating a sculpture for our garden and other small building projects. We are fun people who enjoy having other adventurous, enthusiastic and positive people around! We have established a guest house or bed and breakfast accommodation and we will be focusing next year on those diagnosed with cancer and their carers offering relaxed stays together with art therapy. We currently have yoga classes running in our Activities Studio and we are going to be introducing more workshops next year.
Anne is an oncology nurse and beauty and massage therapist while Sean is a glass artist and a handyman.

We want to further develop the gardens as well as establishing raised vegetable beds. We have a large dam that we want to beautify by building a small jetty, planting water lilies and stocking it with fish. At the same time we are building a deck so we would love people who have carpentry and stonemason skills with lots of enthusiasm being the key skill! Our expectation is that the volunteers would help 5hrs per day for 5 days and have two full days off to sight-see. We also have a small car that is available for the volunteers to use if they have an international drivers licence.
The other skills that we would like are social media gurus as we are both not brilliant at promoting our business via social media. As we have guests most weekends, any help that volunteers can give us preparing the rooms would be great.
They will learn a little of our way of life and we welcome volunteers to join in and socialise with us and our friends.
There is one room available with either a queen bed and also a single mattress for those not so intimately connected! There is a wardrobe and a bathroom and kitchen. You can make your own meals or join Anne and Sean for a shared meal and you would be welcome to avail yourself of the many restaurants around the area.
The Daylesford/Hepburn region is known as 'spa country' with Hepburn Springs a 45 minute walk through native bushland. The Chocolate Mill is a short 500m walk where there are delicious home made chocolates and good coffee. The Gold Fields walking trail is very close by and our bicycles are available for use. Many wineries are are a short drive away as are a number of significant country towns such as Ballarat, Bendigo, Castlemaine. On our 5 acres we have a number of beautiful birds attracted to the native flora and we also have a visiting koala and a number of kangaroos and wallabies.
