    Description

We have a beautiful family home set on 5 acres of structured gardens and bush settings. It is located in rural Victoria in the popular wine and spa region near Daylesford. Ballan or Castlemaine are only 30 mins away and the train from these towns will get you into Melbourne in 1 hour. (We can pick you up from either of these railway stations). This area is a great base for exploring this old gold mining area. You can experience the great outdoors by bushwalking, mountain biking, wineries etc!

We are a middle aged couple that love to travel and share experiences with other travellers! We have accommodation for one or two. We are looking for people to assist with a range of projects from updating our website, creating a sculpture for our garden, gardening/landscaping, and other small building projects. We are fun people who enjoy having other adventurous positive people around! Our goal is to establish a strawbale BnB focusing on cancer patients and their carers offering relaxed stays together with art therapy. Anne is an oncology nurse and beauty and massage therapist while Sean is a glass artist and a handyman.

We want to further develop the gardens as well as establishing raised vegetable beds. We have a large dam that we want to beautify by building a small jetty, planting water lilies and stocking it with fish. At the same time we are renovating the stone clad house so many small projects can be undertaken. Our expectation is that the volunteers would work 5hrs per day for 5 days and have two full days off to sight-see. We also have a small car that is available for the volunteers to use if they have an international drivers licence.

  • What else ...

    What else ...

The Daylesford/Hepburn region is known as 'spa country' with Hepburn Springs a 45 minute walk through native bushland. The Chocolate Mill is a short 500m walk where there are delicious home made chocolates and good coffee. The Gold Fields walking trail is very close by and our bicycles are available for use. Many wineries are are a short drive away as are a number of significant country towns such as Ballarat, Bendigo, Castlemaine. On our 5 acres we have a number of beautiful birds attracted to the native flora and we also have a visiting koala and a number of kangaroos and wallabies.
