    Description

    Hello everyone!

I'm Yohana Lucky, though most people simply call me Yohana. At 20 years old, I’ve always had a deep passion for exploring new places and immersing myself in diverse cultures. Whether it’s trying new foods, learning about local customs, or picking up new languages, I love discovering what makes each place unique.

I come from Malang, East Java, a city rich in cultural heritage. Workawayers visiting our region can experience the art of batik-making, a centuries-old craft passed down through generations. The intricate patterns and vibrant colors of batik tell the captivating stories of our history and identity. Inspired by this tradition, I created a volunteer program to help share these cultural treasures with others.

My family has always been warm and welcoming, eager to share our traditions with people from all walks of life. We love offering hands-on experiences, such as teaching guests how to make traditional foods and cakes. Each day, we provide three meals if the Workawayers working more than 3 hours in a day, and sometimes, we even harvest fresh ingredients from our garden to cook together. These activities not only bring us closer but also foster mutual understanding and appreciation for the diversity that makes our world so special.

I’ve also had the privilege of working with a range of educational institutions, from elementary schools to universities. These experiences have given both me and the Workawayers valuable insights into different education systems and cultures, deepening my appreciation for the varied ways in which people learn and highlighting the importance of diverse perspectives.

At the heart of my journey is a commitment to embracing diversity, learning from others, and sharing the beauty of my heritage. Whether through exploring local traditions, engaging in community programs, or welcoming visitors into our home, I believe cultural exchange enriches lives and builds lasting connections that transcend borders.

I’m truly excited about the opportunity to collaborate on projects, work as a team, and expand our knowledge through shared experiences.
