  We are an English language institute based in Tunja, Colombia, dedicated to providing comprehensive and complete language instruction to a Spanish speaking audience that ranges from children to adults, and across all sectors from non-scholastic, academic, occupation and professional fields. We offer individual and group studies in a beautiful building occupied solely by the institute; it is located in the city center and is fully equipped with modern audio-visual and IT features to enhance language study. And we employ the highest standards in tried and tested immersive methodology and educational research designed to monitor and optimize each student’s study and progress.
  
  Somos un Instituto del idioma Inglés con sede en Tunja, Colombia. Dedicado a suministrar instrucción comprensiva y completa del idioma para una audiencia de habla española que oscila de niños a adultos, y a lo largo de todos los sectores desde campos no escolásticos, académicos, ocupacionales y profesionales. Ofrecemos estudios individuales y grupales en un hermoso edificio ocupado solamente por el instituto; esta localizado en el centro de la ciudad y esta totalmente equipado con tecnología moderna audiovisual y de computación para enriquecer el estudio del idioma. Y empleamos los estándares mas altos en metodologías de inmersión aplicadas y probadas así como también en la investigación educacional diseñada para monitorear y optimizar el estudio y progreso de cada aprendiz.

  We have every expectation that our volunteers will have the opportunity to experience personal growth and a sense of having made a real difference in the lives of others and their own.
  
  Volunteers will have ample opportunity to hone their language skill in Spanish, both by interaction in the classroom and outside the institute, where few Colombians in Tunja speak a foreign language. The institute is prepared to schedule individualized lessons, based on need, to complement this learning process. The benefits available to a volunteer thru cultural immersion in country depend primarily on his/her personal initiatives and ambition. The institute will make every effort to enhance and facilitate the volunteer’s exposure to those benefits by providing access to a variety of local activities and events, when available, such as salsa dancing lessons, cooking classes, spa massages, hiking, and gyms.
  
  Tenemos la expectativa de que nuestros voluntarios tendrán la oportunidad de experimentar un crecimiento personal y la satisfacción de haber hecho una verdadera diferencia en la vida de otros y la propia.
  
  Los Voluntarios tendrán amplia oportunidad de pulir sus habilidades en el idioma Español, tanto por la interacción en el aula de clase como al exterior del instituto, donde pocos colombianos en Tunja hablan una lengua extranjera. El instituto esta preparado para programar lecciones individualizadas, basadas en diferentes necesidades, con el fin de complementar este proceso de aprendizaje. Los beneficios disponibles para un voluntario a través de la inmersión cultural en un país dependen principalmente de sus iniciativas y ambiciones personales. El instituto hará bastante esfuerzo para incrementar y facilitar la exposición del voluntario a estos beneficios mediante el acceso a una variedad de actividades locales y eventos, cuando sea disponible, tales como clases de baile, clases de cocina, masajes en spa caminatas y gimnasio.

  Help

  We truly believe that learning Englsh by interacting with fluent English speakers is really important. We want our students to have as much an experience of cultural exchange as language improvement. It is essential that applicants speak fluent English and have a working level of Spanish.
  
  We need support in our teaching process working hand in hand with Colombian teachers. We have groups ranging from kids to advanced students. We also need help with private lessons which we tailor to individual requirements and always welcome new ideas that we can incorporate in our core methodology.
  
  It is vital that our volunteers get along with the groups we have so that a pleasant atmosphere can be established and our students feel confident in their studies day by day.
  
  Finally, we sometimes visit different organizations in order to promote our English programs, and doing this together with our foreign teachers on a selective basis encourages new audiences to learn this essential language.
  
  Creemos verdaderamente que aprender Ingles mediante la interacción con un extranjero es realmente importante. Queremos que nuestros estudiantes tengan una experiencia tanto de intercambio cultural como de mejora del idioma. Es esencial que los aplicantes hablen un Ingles fluido y tengan un nivel de Español funcional.
  
  Necesitamos apoyo en nuestro proceso de enseñanza trabajando de la mano con profesores colombianos. Contamos con grupos desde niños hasta alumnos avanzados. También necesitamos ayuda con lecciones privadas las cuales dirigimos a requisitos individuales y damos la bienvenida a nuevas ideas que puedan ser aplicadas a nuestra metodología de núcleo.
  
  Es vital que nuestros profesores voluntarios se lleven bien con nuestros grupos de modo que se pueda establecer una atmósfera placentera y nuestros estudiantes se sientan seguros de si mismos y les apetezca aprender Ingles día a día.
  
  Finalmente, en ocasiones visitamos diferentes organizaciones con el fin de darles a conocer nuestros programas de Ingles, y al hacer esto en compañía de profesores extranjeros anima a las personas a aprender Ingles.

  Comfortable and clean room, either in an apartment setting or a private home with wi-fi and basic services. We provide three meals a day on weekdays and a food subsidy on weekends.

  What else ...

  There are a number of places of interest around Tunja worth visiting; easily reached by bus within an hour or two. For instance, Villa de Leyva, Raquira, Iza, et al. Occasionally, the institute hosts some outings. Bogota itself is only two hours by bus.
  
  Existe un buen numero de lugares de interés alrededor de Tunja los cuales vale la pena visitar y que se llega a ellos fácilmente en bus dentro de una o dos horas. Por ejemplo, Villa de Leyva, Raquira, Iza etc. Ocasionalmente, el instituto patrocinara algunas de estas salidas. Incluso Bogota se encuentra a dos horas en bus.
