Description
We are a family of three, Wesly, Berthe and our daughter Christy, who run a school here in Cap-Haitien since 2008.
We share our home with the school, which currently has six classrooms, for the six classes who currently attend the school.
As we were living and working here before we started the school, we saw how many children did not have the possibility to attend school, and this made us decide we wanted to help the children of our country and invest in our future in this way, to help us all move forward together. That is what has brought us to where we are today, and so far, so good! We are now only looking forward to growing more together, even sharing it with a more international community.Types of help and learning opportunities

As a volunteer here at the school in Cap-Haitien, you will get an unique chance to see how the school system here in Haiti works, and even life in general, as you will participate closely with our local employees and the children, and also be right in the middle of town, close to anything you might need.
You will have a chance to learn how to communicate with, and adapt to another culture, and maybe even learn some kreyol!
We are open and flexible, and are happy to let you grow with your tasks, according to experience and your own preference, be it in the online world or here on site.Projects involving children

Help
We are a school for children between the ages 3-12 years old, operating from a small compound in Cap-Haitien, in the north of Haiti.
What we look for in terms of volunteers, are people who can help us with teaching and language practice with the children, primarily English and French.
Experienced teachers in other fields are also welcome as we could work something out together.
Apart from the actual teaching, we also serve food for the children, which implies cooking, buying and the preparation of it, at the same time as we also rent a few rooms we have on site. So helping with both cooking and the managing of the room rentals is also a possibility.
We also have several accounts online and on social media, we also use other sites for travellers. So managing of our online accounts, including taking photos and videos on site, for the presentation of the school, is another possible task.Languages spoken

We have private rooms for you to stay right here at the school.
What else ...
We are happy to assist with advice about what to do in your spare time here.
Cap-Haitien is very well situated, close to the border of the Dominican Republic, with the beautiful and calm city of Monte Cristi with excursions to islands etc around as one possibility.
Closer than that you still have the impressing Palais Sans Souci with the Citadelle Laferriere, right next to town, in Milot, and of course a lot of different beautiful beaches around, like for example the famous Labadie.
