Dan is the funniest host you’ll ever meet, and Rhonda will give you all the local tips.

Rhonda and Dan, you are both amazing people and I felt home straight away. The dogs are all lovely and the horses as well. I had the opportunity to take care of a Foster dog and spend a lot of time with the horses. I was able to ride 2 horses almost every day and loved it. I did some hiking in Sabino Canyon and went to Mount Lemmon with them, its

Vom Host für Workawayer (Carlota)
Carlota is the most amazing young woman! She is intelligent, extremely hard working, knowledgeable in many areas and quick to pick up others. Not only did she have to work with ‘super picky electrical engineer’ but she had to motivate him constantly! She exhibited strong work ethic complemented by a lovely sense of humor and a quick mind. If I was

Staying with Rhonda and Dan was just one of the best experiences of my life so far ! :-)
Rhonda is so nice and loving, I feel like she is my American Mom. Dan is a really funny guy and I also got to meet so many friendly and kind people, who are just hanging around the property from time to time and who are all really good company.
I'm so grateful
… read more for all the experiences I had there. I was able to ride every day and even get dressage lessons by the wonderful Vicky. I was allowed to sneak into water class with Rhonda and get fit and really tan. :-) !
And these are just a few of the things I did during my stay; we also went to the desert museum, we took the horses out into the Sonoran Desert, I went hiking in the Catalina Mountains and so much more even now I can't believe I did all of that in just four weeks! :-)
The horses, dogs and cats are all just wonderful and I was able to take care of two foster dogs, which I wish I could have just taken home with me.
I really would love to come back and start a dressage career and live there forever, haha
Lots of love to you, Rhonda and Dan. I hope to see you soon !
Nele was just as she described, an excellent rider, a lover of dogs, friendly and helpful in all ways! I wish she could come back and stay longer! She is missed. We try to share as much ‘American’ type experiences as possible and it was so much fun with Nele. From horse rides in Saguaro National Park to trophy girl at Tucson Raceway she shined.

Vom Host für Workawayer (Hyeyoung)
Hyeyoung and her daughter visited us this summer, it was sooo hot! Even under these conditions, Hyeyoung found many things to improve at our place as well as cooking some amazing dishes. She is an incredible mother and intelligent, energetic woman. Anyplace she visits will be lucky. Her daughter brought many smiles to our old faces!

Staying with Dan & Rhonda was the best decision i could make and while i thought i would have some quiet and relaxing time, turned out to be an unexpected and totally exciting adventure. Every day brought something new and let me try and see things i have never done and seen before.
They are warm-hearted, welcoming, intelligent and humorous
… read more individuals and so interested in other cultures. They treat their animals insanely well and workawayers as family members.
They are motivated and fit, and i know a lot of people my age doing less stuff than they do. All of their friends & relatives are amazingly open-minded and friendly people as well.
And i never met so adorable, love-giving and friendly animals as they have. I’ve just left the place a couple of days ago and already miss all of them so much!
They have this amazing and beautiful property that is close to town but when you wake up in the morning you feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere, scenery and sunsets just out of this world. You have access to as much food as you like and have a room and a bathroom just for yourself.
In just one week they made it possible for me to experience things i never had on my bucket list but here we go, all of it was so much better than the stuff that was on there. going on amazing rides with wonderful people, getting a riding lesson, being taken to an old western movie set, being able to drive a tractor and a truck, celebrating thanksgiving with an american family, just getting to know the american way of life, going to local stores and restaurants, hearing Dans' stories about the military and architecture, having all these interesting conversations with them, going to an american country bar and dancing, going on a motorcycle ride, helping with the work on building a guesthouse, going to the biggest foodstore i’ve ever seen in my life, having a big family dinner, being taken to sabino canyon and saguaro nationalpark.. etc.. just little of the stuff we did and so much more i enjoyed! Arizona was amazing! for me, it was a mind-changing experience and made me realise what kind of life i really want to have and that i definitely have to change something about the way i live back home. I feel like with my work i have not even given half back when i what they have given to me.
This week was simply the most special time I could imagine and so much more a valuable and unique way of "travelling" than just going to places as a tourist. It also made me love America and everything a little more. These two wonderful people affected my way of thinking probably more than they know :) By far the best workaway experience i have had! Thank you so much for everything, i won't forget any of it. Can't wait to be back :)Du kannst nur Workawayer mit aktiver Mitgliedschaft kontaktieren.

Rhonda and Dan with their huge animal family was the best that has recently happened to me.
From the very first message this amazing woman seemed to be so hospitable and open-minded, so is the atmosphere in the profile pictures. I've always dreamed of going to the west: the whole thing about cowboys, the Native Americans and horses, for sure. I
… read more felt it as soon as I got off the plane: the warm evening and huge Arizonian cactus made me feel so special. There's nothing but excitement when it comes to the sun and the sky here, in Tucson.
I saw Dan and Rhonda pick me up, starting asking me different questions at once and you know what? I felt home so bad. Then, when we arrived at their adorable house at night, so it was dark, I saw three beautiful dogs which give you so much love, so do the two cats. The most fascinating thing was to wake up early in the morning seeing four mighty and graceful creatures in the backyard (guess you got that I'm talking about the horses). Dan and Rhonda make you feel so special: they help you feel the horses ad give you chance to ride (in that very Western saddle, oh yeah!) thru the wash or real Arizonian desert with those Saguaro cactus which you will never find anywhere else. They make you a part of their family: so they try to show you round and know more about Tucson. It's so adorably peaceful here! You'll also have a chance to meet local cowboys (so are these two:) and have any food you want. They do have plenty of it, so you only have to make it for yourself, but I think it's a nice part of adult life, isn't it? You can also watch some Western movies because Dan loves them, so does Rhonda! You can barely find anything like this place, really. It is so special. You might happen to meet their friends who are also one of the nicest people indeed. Just give them a hand and be friendly to them, Rhonda and Dan do deserve being loved like your real family. They are kinda family to me now, I wish I had spent much more time than just two weeks and two extra-days after because I wanted to come back there so bad! I do miss all of you, guys, including Prince, Gas, Diva, Rosie, Kayden, Max and every other single member of their family. They made my Western fairy-tale come true. Hope to come back there soon and help you as much as I can doing my best!
Hugs, eternal love and some other sweet stuff, but not too sweet.
Yours,

We miss them so much!
Not only were they responsible, hardworking and excellent horse women, they were full of laughter!
I did learn that I am not the best cook. We searched for recipes and they made the most delightful things.
I hope they come back soon.
