Description
3-4 Week Stints Offered Year-Round
My husband and I, with 3-4 other individuals, live and steward a completely non-profit retreat center in Cody, WY just east of Yellowstone National Park. We are right in town beside the airport with a lot of land, horses, mountain views and snow that comes and goes (during the winter!). We make sure the buildings are kept warm during the winter (November-March) with occasional visitors since most people come in the summer (May-October). There is a library, chapel, art galleries and a large art studio to create, as well as many trails and a prayer labyrinth on property. Come exchange housing and some food with offering presence and support on property. We tend to ask for half-day support so someone working on a project or a remote worker is a good fit. We take care of the lodges, are in the kitchen and care for the land/gardens. The area around us is the best of the wild! Come explore.Types of help and learning opportunities

Cultural exchange and learning opportunities
The town has an internationally acclaimed Western Art and Native American museum, free to visit through the center. It is the epicenter of American West Culture. We also have community gathering talks about importance of land preservation, Native American culture, sacred Wyoming land sites etc. The retreat center welcomes lots of conversation and outings to know the area. Trips to hot springs, skiing, snowshoeing could happen, if there is interest with various people on property or summer trips to Yellowstone or the annual trip to the Tetons. It is a great place to write, work on art in the studio, find a quiet and stillness as desired.
Help
Our need is a 3-4 week stay during the summer months (May-October). As a staff and community, we hope to do some DIY household projects as well as some cleaning and cooking that the person joins. This role is for someone who is independent as well as a team player, perhaps working on their own project or enjoys adventuring because there is a large chunk of freedom in the middle of the day on most days.

Accommodation
There is a first-floor studio, with a private entrance for the individual. The lodge has great wifi. They will have a shared kitchen and cooking set. Some basic supplies will be offered for food. We sit right above town and in the winter can easily get to town on snowy days for food, coffee or entertainment. Cody, WY is a beautiful, quaint, and robust town of culture. It is incredible during the summer and winter!
What else ...
Hiking is right out your backdoor as well as all over town. The downtown closeby is very walkable once there. There is a coffee shop to run to from the retreat center just one mile away. The airport also sits 1.5 miles away. The lodge you will be housed in is very peaceful and private. The main lodge is where we mostly gather for community meals 1-2 times a month.

Thank you for your hardwork, Melina!
I mainly assisted in the kitchen or prepping guest houses. I was fortunate to work along other Workawayers, and we became wonderful friends while sharing this experience.
