Description
Hi there! We're Isabelle and Johannes, a couple from Germany who are excited to start our next Workaway adventure in New Zealand from December 2025 to January 2026.
Isabelle spent 7 unforgettable weeks in New Zealand in 2023 and Johannes visited the country in 2013 for 3 weeks. We both fell in love with the stunning scenery and friendly people. Now we’re coming back together, hoping to experience more of everyday life and the local culture, as well as spending time enjoying the beautiful outdoors.
We’ll be traveling with a small rental car, spending one week around Auckland and five weeks on the South Island.
We’re true outdoor enthusiasts who enjoy hiking, exploring nature and spending time outside as much as sharing good food and conversation.
*This Workaway account was originally shared by Isabelle and her friend Lisa, who began their Workaway journey together in 2022. They spent a year traveling the world, creating unforgettable memories during their time away from work.

More details about your skills
Isabelle:
I am a selfemployed project manager in the field of digitalization and AI trainer. I’m well-organized and can support you with digital tasks and marketing.
During my travels, I also took on many hands-on tasks and learned a lot along the way: I cared for animals, harvested vegetables, painted, laid flooring, oiled fences, cooked, walked dogs, picked fruit, and helped organize events.
Johannes:
I am an electrical engineer and develop professional audio amplifiers.
I have a knack for all kinds of machines and am good at troubleshooting and repairs.
In my spare time, I am renovating a 150-year-old half-timbered house. I have therefore done almost every kind of manual work imaginable, from substructure work, concrete work, and bricklaying to insulation, electrical installation, carpentry, floor laying, and roofing. I'm not a professional in these areas, though.
We’re always curious to gain new experiences and open to all kinds of work. We look forward to learning from you and expanding the list of things we’ve already done!
