Hi there! my name is Ellie, and I'm from the state of Georgia in the US. I'm always on the lookout for cool travel opportunities where I can immerse myself in other cultures. I love to learn, as well as teach. I am an art teacher, and enjoy painting, and pottery/ceramics. I have a lust for life, and a desire for adventure! I grew up in a rural area on a farm, so I have experience taking care of animals, gardening, outdoor work, etc. A couple of the previous Workaway experiences I’ve done has been these type of things.

Also with my past workaway experiences, I’ve done a lot of house cleaning.

Cooking is definitely a hobby of mine, and while I'm not a vegan (I lean on the pescatarian side haha) I enjoy cooking vegan recipes I find and sharing them with others.

I have worked as a ceramic studio technician which requires me to work with machinery, lift heavy objects, and work outside.

I got a college degree in Art Education, so I love creating art as well as sharing my knowledge of it with others. People ask me a lot what my favorite medium is, and while I would say it probably narrows down to ceramics or painting, I truly love them all!

Being in the field education, I've worked ALOT with kids of all ages. I also have several siblings, so from a young age I've been accustomed to taking care of children. I also have lots of experience babysitting, as well as being a virtual ESL teacher for 2 years.

I have also worked as a coffee barista, and working in customer service has definitely made me a more hospitable person. I am also able to multitask really well.

I have been playing the fiddle for a little while now (definitely still a amateur), and my repertoire mainly consists of old time fiddle tunes, Celtic, and bluegrass songs. I can read music, and have a background in classical music as well.
