    ABOUT US

We are a family living an unorthodox life. We are in search of a certain freedom, an unclear truth, an awaited calmness.

We believe in constant reinvention and the pursuit of knowledge from within.

We want our children (ages 9, 7 and 4) to be freethinkers; they have never attended school nor have been homeschooled in conventional ways.

We are self taught filmmakers and interdisciplinary artists from Mexico & the US, but mainly we are seekers.

Through the years we’ve explored and delved in a handful of things; ancient breathing techniques, finding underground water, old food fermentation methods, prolongued fasting, home birthing, segment sleeping, sungazing...

We have been making feature films for the last decade and a half.

We regularly give lectures and workshops at universities and have shown our films in museums, galleries and film festivals around the world. We pursue themes such as utopia and anti- utopia, historical fiction merged with documentation of the future, the pursuit of solitude, of love, of death and the origin of man.

We are advocates of plagiarism and we are great ignorants of current world afairs. We believe in solitude as a source of understanding.

Even though our projects might be philosophical in nature, we believe in the importance of laughing at ourselves, comedy and not taking ourselves seriously.

    ABOUT THE PROJECT

We moved to Turkey from Vietnam in the summer of 2019. We fell upon a beautiful and remote farm (Yeniköy) in the middle of a mountainous valley. This is a place surrounded by wild fruit and herbs, an isolated, compelling place. It was in need of caretakers and we were invited to do so. We decided to make this place our home for a while.

We are currently working on several projects and realized we wanted to share this great place with others to pursue interesting help together.

We want to create a space where seekers, artists, writers, musicians, freethinkers... can come together and share their different processes.

It is very important to us that our children have meaningful interactions, as a way of exposing them to diverse and creative perspectives.

This is a place where free time and work blur into one. A space to go deep within. A place for solitude and community living.

After one year of receiving hosts we propose the following: come for a week and if we all enjoy each other and the help here you can stay for longer.

If all or any of this resonates with you, send us some short words and let us know what you dream to do here.

The thing we speak of can never be found by seeking, yet only seekers find it” - Bastami

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

The farm has a spacious comunal kitchen with organic preserves and fresh produce from the garden.

We love to cook. Our diet is mostly vegetarian, but we are not. We make our own bone broths, cultured dairy, we have jars of different vegetable ferments, we make our own kimchi. We make homemade cheese and don’t use vegetable oils. There is a collection of grains and different heirloom wheat.

We take turns cooking and see food as a means of communication with each other.

  • Help

    Help

We are not only seeking workers, we are seeking seekers to come create and work together. There is garden help, harvest, planting, feeding animals, wild foraging, cooking, cleaning.

The help varies season to season. There are seasons where there is close to nothing to do. Other seasons there is too much to do.

    IMPORTANT

During this current time we are asking for a voluntary contribution to cover exclusively food expenses.

We are isolated from civilization- surrounded by forests, valleys, mountains and ancient graves where you can get lost and go for long walks. There is cellphone coverage but no WiFi (internet can be reached by cellphone’s data).

    HOW TO GET HERE

Even though isolated, it is fairly easy to get here. The closest airports are either Istanbul (6.5 hour bus) or Canakkale (1.5 hour bus).

From there you can take a bus to either Çan or Bayramiç. We are in the middle of both towns -30 minutes (bus/ hitchhike) from either.

    Hope to meet you soon,

    We wish you well,
