    - urgently needing a helper to help me with feeding all animals, meal prep and cooking and some basic house work :)

We are a busy working family looking for helpers to stay with us and experience the lifestyle and culture of living on an Australian cattle station. While we do enjoy horse riding, working dogs, and other outdoor activities, we are looking for someone who is willing to help with all aspects of life on the station not just horse riding.

We live about 2 hours from Charters Towers (a historic gold town) and 4 hours from Townsville, in a beautiful rural setting surrounded by waterfalls, creeks, basalt lava walls, and other unique natural landmarks.

Our home is shared with a wide variety of animals including 13 dogs, 4 cats, chickens, turkeys, ducks, pet pigs, sheep, cows, and a lot of horses. If you love animals and want to experience life in the Australian outback, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

We’re looking for someone to lend a hand with a variety of daily tasks, including:
    Feeding and caring for animals
    Mucking out yards and stables
    Gardening and watering
General cleaning and tidying around the house
Helping with station chores and mustering (depending on experience)
Help in cattle yards with drafting, branding, etc.

If you’re confident and experienced around horses, you may have the opportunity to ride I usually ride daily and follow natural horsemanship principles. However, this is not a horse-riding holiday. Riding is optional and based on your experience and the time available after essential jobs are done. If you're keen to learn, I’m happy to teach when possible but helping with the day-to-day workload comes first.

We ask for help around 3–5 hours a day, 5 days a week (unless we are mustering on weekends) but we are flexible depending on the day’s needs. Animals still need feeding every day, but schedules can often be adjusted to allow for free afternoons and weekends. We enjoy getting out and about and would love to show you around our area if time permits.

Couples are welcome to apply if available, you may have your own room. We're looking for people who are friendly, have a good sense of humour, show initiative, and are comfortable working independently when needed.

We've been hosts for many years and have met wonderful people from all over the world many of whom we have stayed in touch with. We love welcoming travellers into our home and sharing our way of life. Please note that life on a cattle station isn't always as romantic and pretty as you may think. The work can be hot, dusty, involve blood and can be quite hard.

Also, please be aware that we generally don’t host during the peak of summer, as the heat can be intense and challenging for most visitors. However, feel free to contact me if you’d like to discuss this further.

If you're interested, please tell us a bit about yourself, your work experience, and why you'd like to join us. We look forward to hearing from you!

Please note: NO DRUGS you will be asked to leave immediately!!
