Our next destination:
Australia - from Dec 2024 until Dec 2025 View allDescription
Hello! We’re Madison (29) and Ibrahim (32), a married couple from the USA and Denmark, currently on a year-long sabbatical from our jobs in Oslo, Norway to explore Australia. While part of our adventure involves traveling in our campervan, we’re eager for the chance to slow down, connect with the local culture, learn new skills, and meet new people along the way!
We’re both active and love spending time outdoors, whether it’s running, rock climbing, hiking, horseback riding, or skiing (or pretty much any other outdoor adventure!). We're also excited to pick up new hobbies and skills during our time in Australia to fully experience all it has to offer. As passionate animal lovers, we look forward to spending time with pets, livestock, and wildlife as well. Cooking and sharing delicious food is another joy of ours—we love gathering with friends and family over a home-cooked meal.
Madison is an industrial designer, and Ibrahim works as a health and safety leader, but we have a wide range of work and volunteer experiences in other varied fields. Together, we’re a dynamic, hardworking couple who thrive on challenges. We take pride in being independent, professional, reliable, and quick learners.Interests

More details about your skills
We are both highly active and physically fit, ready to take on any challenge with enthusiasm. In addition to our physical capabilities, our professional experience in desk-based roles over the past five years has honed our skills in handling general computer and office tasks, requiring keen attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
I'm Madison, originally from the United States but have spent the last five years living and working in Oslo as a product designer. I hold a master's degree in industrial design from Denmark and a bachelor’s degree in architecture. I also grew up riding horses (12+ years), and worked for some time as a counselor at a horseback-riding focused summer camp, where I helped care for nearly 50 different horses as part of the barn staff, as well as taught beginner riding lessons to campers ages 7-16. I can offer the following skills:
• Manual labor and general maintenance work (Painting and decorating, DIY repairs, woodworking)
• Horseback riding or equestrian/animal care (mucking stalls, feeding, exercising, grooming, English riding instruction, assisting with equine therapy, etc.)
• Adventure sports skills (Alpine skiing, backcountry skiing, XC skiing, rock climbing)
• Housekeeping and cleaning (laundry, cooking and meal preparation, organizing and decluttering spaces, pet care (feeding, walking, grooming, petsitting)
• Childcare and babysitting (babysitting, arts + crafts, helping with English language learning, tutoring)
• Coordination and logistics (assistance planning events, setting up)
• Professional work as an industrial designer and related tasks
•Farm/outdoor labor (fruit picking, gardening assistance, other manual tasks with guidance).
Some other relevant experiences, outside of my professional career as an industrial designer, includes:
• My work at Cedar Lodge Summer Camp as a counselor and riding instructor,
• My experience in Cape Coast, Ghana, working with other architecture students to build a house from the ground up
• Volunteering at Equest Center for Therapeutic Horseback Riding, assisting certified therapists with lessons and equestrian care.
My husband, Ibrahim, is Danish and currently on leave from his role as a Health and Safety Leader at a major construction company in Norway. He holds a bachelor's degree in production engineering and a master's degree in risk and safety management. Growing up on a farm, Ibrahim gained hands-on experience in animal care (horses, donkeys, goats, chickens, rabbits, etc.), harvesting fruits and vegetables, as well as performing general maintenance and woodworking tasks. He’s also an exceptional cook—recently perfecting his homemade pasta, pizza, and Middle Eastern dishes. Ibrahim brings a range of valuable skills, including:
• Manual labor in construction work (carpentry, brickwork, gypsum boards, insulation and painting (his dad owned a construction company, he worked there part time when he was young))
• Garden work (all types of garden work, removing weed, cleaning, cutting trees, planting new grass (worked as part-time job for 5 summers))
• General maintenance work for machinery or construction work
• Animal care for all types of animals at farms (feeding, cleaning, moving animals around and taking care of sick animals)
• Adventure sports skills (Alpine skiing, backcountry skiing, XC skiing, rock climbing, trail running, mountain biking)
• Housekeeping and cleaning (laundry, cooking and meal preparation, organizing and decluttering spaces, pet care (feeding, walking, grooming, petsitting)
• Professional work as a HSE advisor and related tasks (working with food production, construction and machinery production line)
• Teaching sports (swimming, weight training, triathlon, rock climbing, etc.)
Other relevant experiences, outside of his professional career, includes:
• Working as a Team Leader at World of Adventure A/S assisting with team-building activities for large companies and corporations and managing the high-ropes course,
