    Description

WE, Sandra (40) and Ralph (51) and our twins (8 years old), are a german family, living in an old farmhouse near Koblenz in central Germany. We renovated the house in 2013/2014, but there is still a lot of work concerning the courtyard and the barn and – of course- our animals.
We are open-minded and enthusiastic and full of ideas.

We really like to have happy people around, experience other cultures and maybe improve our English. In 2015, our twins Jakob and Enya were born, so they will liven the place up even more in the next years.
If YOU are a responsible and reliable person who likes animals, children and don't mind working outside or getting yourself dirty, this might be the right place for you :)
Koblenz is about 25 km away, you can easily reach Cologne, Bonn or Düsseldorf by train in about 1h30.

The region where we live is distinguished by beautiful vineyards, the river Moselle, small villages and agriculture. It's a perfect place for riding, cycling, hiking, swimming in the river and spending some time with kind people.
We speak german, english (fluent... mostly ;)) and only a little bit of french.
We prefer to have somebody for a longer period of time, minimum stay 4 weeks!

We have 3 norwegian fjordhorses and a classic pony, 6 llamas, 2 dogs, 3 cats and a couple of chickens. We started having bees and producing honey in 2019. We hope you are an animal lover and maybe have some experience with animals or you are – that's essential to do this job- at least not scared of them.
The chores include feeding the animals, cleaning their stables, brushing them (no, the chickens don't need to be brushed ;-)),building fences, taking the dogs for their daily walks in the morning and evening ... If you are interested in horseback riding or coachdriving, there will be the opportunity to have a try, too.

Sometimes, we might need help to renovate some of the buildings, build or fix fences, harvest the hay in summer, … all that kind of work that needs to be done on a small farm.
It would be nice if you are not scared of children. Enya and Jakob are easy going and usually like to have a chat or play football with our guests . You love cooking? Then we can alternate in preparing the food for our family!
We don't expect you to clean our house, but we'd be happy if you knew how to use a broom or vacuum cleaner and keep your room clean ;-).

You see, there are lots of possibilities to help us, but it won't take more than 4-5h a day. If you are interested in staying with us on our farm, please contact us and we'll see which kind of volunteer work you favor.
