  • Description

Hello. We are Jamie & Joey and have an acre property in the Eastern Sierra that we are beautifying in harmony with the natural landscape. We are at 7,000 feet elevation (it snows here from Oct-May) and most of our needs are outdoor projects during our very limited summer. When the weather is warms, this is heaven on earth. There's a hammock and deck beside the year round creek that runs through the Aspen grove. We are very close to the John Muir Wilderness and look up to peaks of 13,000 feet or more. It is so peaceful in this country town that's minutes away from exquisite mountain lakes, creeks, waterfalls and natural hot springs and not too far from the PCT, Mammoth Mountain Ski Area and Yosemite National Park. We have a guesthouse on the property that is rented our 90% of the time and love the sacred art of hosting. We both have day jobs, however we're both artists. Joey is a woodworker. Jamie is a writer and a potter. We love meeting new people and hope to meet you soon.

We need help preparing the soil for garden beds, scaping the land to create natural stairs, moving dirt to create a space for campsites, digging holes for natural signage, creating eco-friendly seating areas or art projects. If you have fine craftsmanship skills, we could use help framing inside doors and windows.

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We are open to people from all cultures. We are happy to share the easy pace of mountain lifestyle and create meals together from local foods. Being in a remote natural area, we celebrate the cycles of the seasons and moon with ceremony. Though we are friendly and very open to sharing our hearts with you, honestly the area itself is probably the best asset. We would be thrilled to share our thorough local knowledge of hikes, secret local spots, hot springs, fishing and more.
