I stayed with Cathey about a month in November - December 2024. And i couldnt have asked for a better workaway to start of my Italy trip. Right when she picked me up from the bus station we got along great. She is very social, funny, strong and kind personality. She included me in to her life right away in ways i wouldnt have seen coming. I was

Also loved her animal family, they were such well behaved dogs that i couldnt cuddle enough. And she also had cats with the most interesting personalities i have seen.
Work was very easy and fun. Mostly feeding the animals and then outside work usually with Cathey, we builded a fence and i painted her upstairs space.
I really do miss wakeing up to cuddle with the dogs and welcoming neights of the horses when i go feed them.
This is very social workaway with lot of hangin out with animals in the beautiful hills of Casalanguida.
I stayed with Cathey for the first two weeks in November '24. She picked me up at the bus stop and we connected quickly and became fast friends. Together, and with help from a friend and a neighbor, we built a pallet fence for her animals. It was a great learning experience for both of us. Also, I spent a day working with her neighbors helping

I joined Cathey in cooking together; running errands which included shopping, going to the vet, to the hardware store; and once, we retrieved her horses from the neighbors field when they inadvertently escaped their enclosure. We visited neighbors, walked the dogs every evening, and had several dinners out with her expat friends. Cathey is a delight to be around; she is smart, motivated and has the best positive "can do" energy. Her level of fluency in Italian is commendable given how long she has lived in Italy. She treats her animals with kindness and love and they exhibit gentle behavior in return. Overall, it was a terrific experience and it is a placement that I would highly recommend to others.

I had a great Stay with Cathey and all her furry family, wonderful evening walks with the dogs and dici the black cat. The neighborhood was great 3 houses of Italian neighbors. Real Contadini (farmers). I was so lucky to be included in the neighbors bottling of their own tomato sauce. Everyone was so friendly a great place to practice Italian.
… read more Cathey has done an amazing job of learning Italian, working on her property and networking with her new neighbors. She also has a great group of ex-pat friends. Really impressive when I realized she's only been a permanent resident for less than 2 years.
The work was fun and basically yard clean up and maintenance. wood pile, garage, fence repair, in and around the barn, tree pruning, painting...It was fun running to towns to shop and get supplies, visiting Vasto for a night of music in the piazza, tons of country roads and small villages, beautiful country. Thanks for everything thing Cathey! What a great week!!!You can only contact Workawayers who have an active membership.

I hosted Olivia for just a short while and it was while we were completely devoid of water here in Casalanguida and she was an absolute trooyuper! She hauled water for the horses and plants from the well and cheerfully filled a plentitude of plastic bottle from the fountain in town to use for cooking and teeth brushing! Although I didn't ask her

We stayed with Cathey for 3 weeks in June and absolutely loved it. Time went too fast as always and we could have easily stayed there for longer.
Cathey was super kind and helpful and we adored all her extended pet family.

The work is mostly looking after the animals and gardening, we got lucky and there was plenty of fresh fruit coming off the trees we got to harvest and enjoy!
Greg and Jenny have been an absolute blessing! All of my animals absolutely love them and they are knowledgeable and confident in their care and interactions with them...from horses to chickens and a new puppy! I have been so impressed with their ability to find things to do, projects that i hadn't even thought of, and they take the initiative and

I have felt completely at ease in leaving the running of the household to them while i spend hours on end studying for my patente and i absolutely could not have done this without them. Not to mention the lovely meals they have prepared! Capable, intelligent, great conversations over lovely meals, absolutely 5 star recommendation.
