Description
Hi everyone, I'm Anne Kathryn, American mother of Gianina (7 years old) and Steven (5 years old). My husband is Italian. We are a happy and open minded family of four, always wanting to learn new ways of thinking. I am an elementary teacher and I am also a birth doula. I am originally from Tennessee, USA, and I am passionate about helping mothers in their motherhood journey. My husband has a local window and doors business. He is very handy, a good cook, and a great dad.

Help
There is always lots to do at our house! Here are the three main categories. If you write us, please let us know how you would prefer to help! Please only write if you can stay for at least 2 months.
1. Childcare - play with the children after school, babysit, make crafts, read books, share your language and skills in a fun way with Gianina and Steven
OR
2. Help us keep our house clean
OR
3. Take care of the evening meals. Anne Kathryn doesn't eat much meat and prefers vegan or vegetarian cooking, but the rest of the family loves to eat all kinds of food.Languages spoken

We live in a four bedroom/two bathroom apartment in Genova Quarto. You would have your own room and bathroom. We would all share a long balcony that looks onto a small courtyard. We are a 10 minute walk from the beach and 10 minutes from the train station. There is a bus stop just in front of our building that will take you to the center of town (about a 20 minute ride) where you will find museums, acquarium, and shopping in charming old streets.
What else ...
Genoa is a big(ish) city of about 700,000 people. It's quite unique because the mountains start really close to the sea. We live in a great area for hiking. There are five pedestrian towns called Cinque Terre, about an hour from us by train. We are by the sea where water sports are very popular, so if you like kayaking, swimming, or simply lying in the sun, this could be a fun place for you to visit! There is a four minute video on You Tube that is very informative. It's called, "Top 10 Things to do in Genoa, Italy."

I experienced an abundance of joy, generosity and contentedness during my 3 months stay with with Anne Kathryn, Santo, Gianina and Steven. When spending time with their extended family I witnessed their mutual affection, so heart warming. I was welcomed by them with open arms.
