  • Description

*️️️️Hi everyone, we are so incredibly grateful for our past two years on WorkAway but are taking a break this winter! We are currently looking for a house sitter as we will be in and out of the farm this winter. If you are interested in part house-sitting, part volunteer, please get in touch. xx*️️️️

This is a biodynamic farm located in the mountains of Catalunya. Our 5-hectare of land and solar-powered rural house is located 1.5 hours from Barcelona and 30 minutes from Tarragona and Reus. It is a 15-minute drive to the sea and surrounded by hiking and rock climbing.

We are looking for volunteers to come for at least 3 weeks to assist with cropping and growing our new land using 100% biodynamic methods. We are especially interested in guests with prior experience or studies in agriculture or biodynamic farming.

Visitors can expect to help 5 hours a day and live in our large rural house with either a private room and bathroom or a room/bathroom shared with one other volunteer.

We eat together as a community, which means we all eat the same dish at each meal at the same times - 9:30 am, 3 pm and 9 pm. We cook all our meals but ask that volunteers with setting the table and cleaning up afterwards. We are a 100% vegan home with the exception of eggs that come directly from our own chickens. We are also gluten-free friendly. All our produce is 100% organic and as local as possible!

We often have friends visit from around the world who contribute to work on the farm or share meals with us. You can expect to meet a lot of new people! We speak English and Spanish at home.

The farm is run by a young couple who are originally from Barcelona and New York. We're looking forward to meeting open-minded, active individuals from around the world.

This is an open-minded positive space and a truly international home. You will not only practice Spanish with locals, but also have the opportunity to spend time with friends and guests from around the world. We would love to share our knowledge of biodynamic farming as well as the benefits of an organic, vegan lifestyle -- even if you only adapt some parts of it when you go home. This is also a wonderful place to relax if you are looking for an alternative to an urban existence at the moment. Surrounded by incredible nature, we believe you'll learn as much from yourself as you will from us during this time.

We are looking for volunteers to come for at least 3 weeks to assist with cropping and growing our new land using 100% biodynamic methods.

Visitors can expect to help 5 hours a day (10-3). We all participate in morning activities for 30 minutes including breakfast preparation, tidying the community space, clearing the compost, retrieving firewood. We then eat together and begin the day outside which goes from 10-3 pm.

Visitors can expect to live in a cabin with other volunteers and bathroom or in a bedroom in the house, which is shared with one other volunteer. Bathrooms are shared by no more than 2 or 3 people. We eat together as a community three times per day. We also ask the volunteers who plan to stay on property throughout their stay work 6 days per week with one day rest. If you would like to leave for day or weekend trips then 5 days a week is OK!

We are especially interested in guests with prior experience or studies in agriculture, biodynamic farming, environment or engineering. We only accept volunteers who are 24 years old or older.

We would encourage visitors to enjoy the incredible outdoors around us. There are endless options for mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing, swimming, and kite surfing. The wine region of Priorat is located a quick 15-minute drive away and wonderful to explore by bike or car during the summer. We can also organize transportation to the closest cities for weekend trips.

Wood-fired bread and pizza are two of our favorite dishes to make at home.
This walk through olive trees towards the mountains is one of our favorite on the land.
Every morning we collect 3-4 eggs from our 5 chickens. We love making delicious omelettes with Spanish toast (bread with tomato and olive oil) for breakfast.
