    Help

I am running a business and, my husband works full time at a bank and our son Max who is 2 years old. We are both working and are looking for some help to keep our child entertained when we need to work longer hours or need a date-night.

We are sending Max to childcare so we will need you to take him or pick him up and prepare his food bags and clothing. When he is sick, he will not be able to go to childcare and we will need you to look after him. We also need help with organising clothes, toys, shopping, washing the dishes, cooking family meals, dusting, laundry, and other house chores.

Occasionally we also like to travel as a family and will need someone to water the plants. We can provide you with a weekly chore list but also love people with observation skills and initiative, who can do little things which they feel are needed without being asked.

You need to have WhatsAPP installed in your phone and a data plan so we can communicate effectively.

  • Accommodation

    Accommodation

We are offering a room in our home, with shared bathroom. We can host an individual but do keep an extra mattress so we can welcome your guest for short stays.

In Malta July and Aug are peak months and the island is alive full of music and religious festivals. It can get very hot - a fan will be provided but the room does not have an air conditioner. Ideally you are someone who does not mind the hot summer months.

Workaways shall be provided with 3 meals a day or food that could be used for cooking. You will have full use of the kitchen and appliances and can use herbs spices butters jams etc. You can prepare your own food or join us for dinner when possible. Basic respect applies so make sure you clean after you or if we are eating together offer a helping hand. Cooking for yourself, cleaning after yourself and washing your own clothes does not count as work.

There may be some fine items which are for occasional use. For example you should not consume excessive amounts of our spirits or use premium olive oil, honey or wine for cooking.

    What else ...

Public Transport in Malta is free if you have a tal-linja card - but it costs around 27 euros, needs to be ordered online and posted to a local address and takes 1month to be delivered. We recommend you book in advance if you are decided on coming to Malta

We need you to have a good immune system - if you catch colds more than once a year this may not be the opportunity for you. Max goes to childcare and because of this, he will come home with a new disease every other week. When Max is ill, you will need to stay home to look after a sick child, if your immune system is not robust you will get sick too and end up not enjoying your time in Malta.

We are meat eaters but do not mind vegans and vegetarians who respect our food preferences.

We are located few mins away from a bus stop and can recommend great countryside walks and beaches which are just 15 mins away by bus.

If you are looking for Social activity in Malta, Facebook is very popular and our previous workaways recommend bumble friendship
