    Description

    Hello!

We are a small family: Man, Jannah and son Najme.
We live in the countryside in beautiful Kedah State mainly surrounded by the tropical rainforest.
We would like to welcome you to our home, introduce you to our daily life, food and we will share everything with you.

Our main aim is to cultivate and develop 25 acres on our beautiful hillside and create a place for travelers from all around the world. We welcome any ideas and expertise to join us and make this place a slice of paradise.

Also we constantly try to develop our home with any kind of different DIY-projects, e.g. building a bathroom and gazzibo (a small hut to chill) in the garden. On our property there are also a lot of fruit trees, so during harvesting season (June+July) you are more than welcome to help with picking fruits.

Due to fortunate events and new ideas, we currently have a lot of other projects to work on:

    1. Building
(previous experience welcomed, but a willingness to learn is all you need)

We are in the process of building tree houses using resources harvested from my land. We welcome any style and idea, as long as it stands. Each house should reflect the creativity and ability of the builders.

We are also beginning construction of the dorms. This will require alot of hands, so volunteers will have the chance to really learn valuable skills or apply what they already know to a huge aspect of the project.

    2. Weaving

We weave together palm leaves for the roofs. With the rain we get during the wet season, a quality roof is everything.

    3. Farming

Our main goal is to cultivate a cashew nut farm with about 2000 trees (800 planted so far). We also plan to grow our own vegetables and fruit trees. We're in the process of planting sugar cane, tapioca, bananas and durian with plenty already in the earth.

Other than that there is room for exploration and any creative ideas.

    4. Gardening

We also have a garden in fromt of the main house. This used to produce corn, tomatoes, and peppers but has since been overgrown with weeds. We'd love to get this up and running again to produce fresh greens and veggies for our meals.
(Foraging in the jungle does the job in the meantime.)

    5. Everything else

Building steps into the hills, keeping the place clean and in order, helping with cooking, or anything you feel you can contribute is welcomed and appreciated.

All these projects make a good variety and give room for everyone to enjoy the beauty of nature while being active and creative. So, pick a place, make it yours or help everywhere a bit - your choice ;)

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We are located in a surrounding of true country life with tropical rain forest atmosphere where the malaysian culture is experienced best. The view of the valley from up on the hillside is breathtaking and you're sure to find a sense of calm and inspiration that you can't get in the city. You'll learn the ins and outs of sustainable living and how to potentially run your own similar project. You'll also be surrounded with some pretty good company.

Keep in mind, this is also a muslim village where the culture should be respected.
