In the same boat
The 64 foot (20 m) sailing yacht will sail along the Norwegian coast to live of the sea, to do reasearch about microplastic in the ocean and clean beahes/coast for plastic-rubbish. In spare-time we do moutain-hiking, seakayak, freediving/spearfishing etc.
With simple equipment for freediving we will catch fish, shellfish and more, supplemented by food and resources from the land. This will be basicly idealistic work for the environment, but we will try to get supporters (company/goverments etc.) that can make this a long term project over years to come. As long as we dont earn any money on this project or get suppert, then we also like dumbster-diving.
As crew on the boat, you will help to sail and steer the ship. You will help cooking, take part in fishing and gathering, help out with cleaning and general maintenance of the boat. That is not work, but when you pick up plastic from the coast you do a good job for the environment and yourselves.
Minimum stay onboard is four weeks, so the crew get time to be useful on the ship. Because of the groupdynamic, we dont take couples/pairs/friends. Max age 28 year.
We start to sail 1. february 2018, and finish 1.of october same year.
