LATEST UPDATE: autonomous volunteers needed for an unusual summer :)

    GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
We live in a (still) traditional village surrounded by hills and forests where time goes in a different pace. For many years our household was part of an intentional community group that has unfortunately dismantled in 2017. However, we keep on our beliefs and values and go on experimenting simplicity with permaculture and technology, weaving a social web of people interested in alternative living.

Last summer, Teodora, the main ”engine” of the household was away in a volunteering mission in an African country and this has radically changed her perspectives. For this year the farm goes into a new experimental stage of minimizing the time inputs, sharing the space and allowing time to go away. Courageous volunteers will be cared by Contantza, an energetic yet fragile 77 years old lady with logistic support from Thomas who will be there on week-ends.

For March and April all work will be put into creating a low effort maintenance vegetable garden. That means a lot of mulching, testing new tools and use of dripping irrigation as well as some automatization.

We are looking forward hosting volunteers who are autonomous, enjoy time alone for reading and creative activities and who are enthusiast communicators beyond language barriers (yes, we know you exist with this precise combination :D ).

    Cultural exchange and learning opportunities

We live in a multiethnic village in Western Romania (Serbian and Romanian population) along with some newcomers from the nearby city Timisoara, Germany, Belgium and France. The locals are friendly and willing to interact with international visitors. The travellers can learn here about Banat area as an interesting historic experiment of co-habitation by people of different ethnic backgrounds as well as about new nomads searches (that included both failures and successes) for a balanced lifestyle. The nearby city of Timisoara is interesting to visit and to experience contemporary culture, as the city is preparing to be European Capital of Culture in 2021.
