We are a boutique hostel situated on the Rio Buritaca, around 10 minutes by car from the Caribbean coast of Colombia.
We are looking for a volunteer YOGA TEACHER to teach our 8 - 9 am classes Monday - Friday and support around the hostel. We would like to confirm our July (starting 14th) and August teachers asap.
We also need a teacher to continue our Community English programme with Colombians of all ages. It is 30 hours a week Monday - Friday, with weekends free. Some classes are with our fantastic staff at the hostel, other are in the local town and in the local school. The next start date is early August, but we are also looking for teachers for September too.
We are also looking for someone who can edit photo and video content to showcase our new sports Community Programme to attract external funding. We would also like make a video of all of the activities available from our hostel. From Tubing to Surfing to Waterfall hikes, we would love to capture content and package it together in a short, inspiring video.
And finally, we are looking for teachers to stay for a minimum of one month to teach children at a school in the Sierra Nevada de Nevada that do not have access to education due to their isolated location. The school is around a 90 minute walk up river into the mountains from our hostel, with spectacular views across the jungle and into the Sierra. This is a truly unique community project, so if you have artistic skills you'd like to share, or are a travelling teacher that believes you can impart some knowledge then we would love to hear from you!
Our site is a stunning 2 hectare plot of land with a unique river beach and natural pool. We enjoy daily visits from humming birds and howler monkeys, the Caribbean is a 25 minute walk away, and there are thermal springs in the hills nearby. We also have an abundance of fruit trees!
We are situated in Buritaca, sandwiched between Palomino and Parque Tayrona, both just 25 minutes away.
Please only apply if you are right for one of the roles above. For more general volunteering opportunities, we prioritise guests we have already met, so please do book in with us for a few days to give you the best possible chance to volunteer with us in the future. Thanks very much.

Either a room of your own or a tent, all with beds.
We have drinking water, showers and electricity and a working kitchen in a fully functioning hostel. We provide all meals and discounted drinks.
The English teacher based at the hostel also has a tent or bedroom.
For the jungle schoolteacher, your time would be split between living with us at the hostel and with a host couple closer to the school. They live in an eco retreat in the jungle set in a stunning nature reserve.
Palomino, Parque Tayrona, Minca, Santa Marta, Taganga and La Guajira desert are all perfect day off excursions. The collectivo bus that runs between Santa Marta and Palomino is 10 minutes from the property, we can also organise transport to take you to and from Buritaca.
We are 25 minutes from the ocean and there are plenty of walks in the hills close by. Rancho Relaxo and Costeño Beach are our closest neighbours, both of which are great for any time off.
