We spent two wonderful months at Mats’ place with 4 friends. The location is perfect, just next to the beach, which allowed us to fully enjoy ourselves while working. We met a lot of people, which made the experience even more interesting and rewarding. What we particularly appreciated was the opportunity to connect with many people there and share great moments together. The schedule was flexible, which allowed us to find a good balance between work and free time to explore the surroundings and make the most of our stay.

Although I only spent close to a week at the farm with Riette and her family it made such a wonderful impact on my quick tenure in South Africa. It was such a pleasure to feel warmly at home in this place surrounded by mountains, fruits, and incredible flora! I enjoyed the work and downtime just the same, being outside and living the rural peace. Experiencing my first braai and trip to the coast were phenomenal! I am so very thankful, baie dankie!!

Viktoria was with us for two weeks and her help was excellent. We really enjoyed spending time with her because she's flexible, calm, kind, responsible, and respectful of our house rules. She always had a positive attitude and helped us, and our pets became very attached to her. We hope to see her again someday. We highly recommend her!

We enjoyed our two weeks with Karen at the school. Karen is super kind, cooks great lunches and ensured we tried all the best local street food. Self contained volunteer apartment is opposite Karen’s place and 2min walk to the school. We found the local market to buy fruit and vegetables for dinner, there is also a big supermarket about 15min walk. We had lots of time on our hands as students would cancel last minute or just not turn up. Not much to do in the area, but felt safe. Lots of time available to relax or make next steps plans.

Latifeh was an amazing volunteer and a truly special person. She is the first volunteer we hosted from Iran, and her presence was inspiring from the start. A very strong woman and a great human being, Latifeh is also an incredibly talented artist, with amazing skills in drawing and a creative vision that shines in everything she does. During her stay, she helped us build the chicken coop and contributed to various other tasks with strength, dedication, and a positive attitude. Latifeh is full of stories and experiences, bringing depth and perspective to every conversation, and she truly cares about making the world a better place. She left a bit earlier than planned due to some challenges with another volunteer, but this was nothing serious, and it did not take away from the fantastic energy and commitment she brought to our project. Latifeh has a strong temperament, but in the best way – confident, assertive, and passionate, which makes her even more inspiring. We highly recommend Latifeh to any WorkAway host. She’s talented, strong, kind, and a wonderful addition to any project.

Eduardo was an absolutely fantastic volunteer during his stay with us. Coming from Costa Rica, he spoke Portuguese and impressed everyone with his curiosity and eagerness to learn. He wanted to know about everything around him, from farm life to local culture, and his enthusiasm was truly inspiring. Eduardo is not only incredibly dedicated and hardworking, but also a genuinely wonderful person. He helped in all tasks with commitment and care, and his positive attitude and friendly nature quickly won the hearts of everyone. He is reliable, proactive, and an amazing team member, always ready to pitch in and contribute wherever needed. We can say without hesitation that Eduardo is a very good volunteer – one of the best you could hope to host. Any WorkAway project would be lucky to have him, and we highly recommend him to the entire community.

Beau was with us for two weeks , in that time she was amazing and always willing to help and completed every task to a high standard. We highly recommend Beau to anyone who needs so quality help .

Simone was an amazing volunteer during her stay with us. Even though she worked remotely for part of the day, it was completely smooth – she was always reliable and got everything done. She completed every task we asked of her with care and dedication, always ready to help whenever needed. Beyond her great work, Simone is a sweet, kind person with a positive energy that rubbed off on everyone around her. She integrated easily with the other volunteers and helped create a fun, collaborative, and relaxed atmosphere. She’s flexible, committed, and always willing to pitch in wherever needed. Hosting Simone was an absolute pleasure, and any WorkAway host would be lucky to have her. Super recommended! She’s an incredible person with such a great vibe – she’ll definitely leave a positive mark wherever she goes.

Staying with Jan and Carina, Janna and Maja was a really enjoyable experience. I felt at ease the moment I got there and stepping into their everyday life seemed natural. The work I did was very doable and I mainly worked in the garden. Being outside and petting the animals seems like a really good workaway experience to me. The animals made the place unique and unforgettable, dogs having that time of the year and such. :D Working in the garden made the ducks curious on what I was doing. Not forgetting the adorable Anas and all the rest of the furry and featherly animals. I left this place with many fond memories and being able to try new things. Also I don't think I've ever met a family so into card games. :) But I did have a really good time with you bunch, and I do hope I will come back some day. Wish you all the best!

We absolutely loved having Emma in our house! She is so easy going, it felt like we have known each other for a long time after just a few days. She is a good worker, and makes great Italian food, that Is a big plus! Hope to have her here again!

We truly loved getting to know Ruby. She fitted into our family and daily routines with creativity, warmth, energy and positive spirit. Ruby is sweet, humorous, and easygoing. Ruby took initiative, doing far more than we expected. Doing garden work (light and heavy), WONDERFUL foods and other help around the house. Ruby is independent and makes good use of her recreational time (we are very impressed with your long walks). We could not have wished for a better match. Any host would be lucky to welcome her. What a wonderful gift it has been to meet you – we feel lots of gratitude.

Ho soggiornato con Ada e Rino in Sardegna per quasi tre mesi. Non avrei potuto avere un'esperienza migliore. Ada e Rino sono stati così pazienti, gentili e accoglienti. Entrambi mi hanno aiutato a migliorare il mio italiano e a conoscere la cultura italiana, oltre ad avere un vivo interesse per la mia cultura e la mia lingua. Non solo Ada e Rino sono stati degli ospiti fantastici, ma anche tutta la loro famiglia e i loro amici sono stati altrettanto generosi e amichevoli. Il posto era bellissimo e molto tranquillo, perfetto per chi vive in città ma vuole vivere la vita di campagna. Potrei scrivere per ore dei meravigliosi ricordi che ho creato in Sardegna con Ada e Rino, e mi piacerebbe molto tornarci un giorno. Lo consiglio vivamente. Grazie a entrambi per un momento indimenticabile! I stayed with Ada and Rino in Sardinia for almost three months. I couldn't of had a better experience. Ada and Rino were so patient, kind, and welcoming. They both helped me improve my Italian and learn about Italian culture, as well as having a keen interest in my culture and language. Not only were Ada and Rino fantastic hosts, but their entire family and friends were equally as generous and friendly. The place was beautiful and very peaceful, perfect for those who live in the city but want to experience country life. I could write for hours about the wonderful memories I made in Sardinia with Ada and Rino, and I would love to return someday. I highly recommend. Thank you both for an unforgettable time!

Zoe and Mathis were a lovely addition to our home. They stayed at the beginning of their trip around NZ and we also got to see them again before they departed. They are a lovely couple, hard working, respectful, clean & tidy. Were willing to give anything a try and helped us with many things around the home and garden. We hope to see them again one day!!

It was really great to get to know Aina and spend some time with her, she has a very easygoing personality and carries lots of vibrant energy ! She is very responsible and also flexible with schedule and work, and very grateful for every opportunity to discover new things. Despite what she might say, she speaks perfect French (and English as well !) but she is still curious to learn new idioms and tries to understand those stupid french grammar rules 😊 She has been very helpful around the house, she is not afraid to try and learn new manual skills, either for renovation or gardening. And she is such a gooooood cook !! She cooked so many nice meals ! I would definitely recommend you hosting Aina if you have the chance ; she will bring a pair of helpful hands, meaningful conversations and lot of good fun ! Moltes gracias Aina, you know you are always welcome and will be happy to meet again 😊

Krishna is one of the most generous person I've met on workaway, he took care of me when I got a bit sick, he showed me around his village and different places in the area, I met a lot of people and he always did everything he could to make me feel comfortable and like at home. It was an unusual experience compared to others as I did not work at all but I was a tourist, seeing day to day life from a small village perspective. Thank you for hosting me and for being such a caring and genuine person.

He pasado cinco meses en el ecoturismo, es un lugar mágico alejado de la ciudad entre campos de olivos. Pude combinar trabajo, vacaciones, descanso y recorrer distintos lugares. Compartí mis días con dos gatitos hermosos Dante e Indi. Durante toda mi estancia conté con una furgoneta para poder moverme libremente para ir a hacer compras al pueblo o para conocer distintos lugares del delta del Ebro. Las tareas a desarrollar son sencillas limpieza de habitaciones, recibir clientes, servir desayunos y cenas. Belén es una persona encantadora, amante y protectora de los animales, tuve la oportunidad de compartir distintas actividades culturales y sociales con ella y sus amigos. Ha sido una gran experiencia de Workaway, gracias Belén por compartir este espacio mágico que has creado, y a tus hermosos animales 🥰

Yuriko was a great workaway ecperience! She was so kind, seemed to be happy with her life in our little village. was always ready to share our days with us, to be together with the grandchildren or our friends and family members. Day by day she belonges more to our family! She was taking german lessons every morning after jogging over the hills😂 Yuri is student of medicine and we all are shure she will get a great doctor! We had a lot of talks about our different cultures and how to live our lifes in our different time... last but not least the medical behaviors. Yuri was with a helping hand in garden and in house beside me, cooking ,cleaning a lot and having an own project.(my half broken old banch is now ready to use again. ) We wish all, that we will see Yuri again and that she has the power for her further studies.

Cathy was a positive and confident participant in harvesting and assisting with other fall projects. Cathy willingly tackled any project that I asked her to do. She is strong and capable. Cathy could work independently and was equally comfortable with team work in a collaborative project. She was clean, thoughtful and considerate in the shared household spaces. She contributed to cooking and general cleaning. Her dog, Gany, was well behaved and interacted with my dog appropriately. She is well trained, quiet and friendly. Gany is a sweetheart. I recommend Cathy (and Gany) if you are looking for a positive, confident person who is well rounded and capable of many kinds of projects.

Our return from a wonderful stay with Francisco! Francisco’s farm is located about 1 hour from Santiago and 40 minutes from the airport. You can take a taxi or Uber (not always easy) for around $25, otherwise take the bus. Francisco goes to Santiago every Tuesday and Wednesday, and you can go with him. The property of about 2.6 hectares has pastures, a round pen, a main house (plus another house for an employee). There are 3 big dogs (+2 from the employee), very friendly and they don’t go inside the house. Francisco lives with Jacqueline and Milan, his 15-year-old son. The atmosphere at home is very warm and natural. We shared all meals together, but you can also be independent sometimes. Francisco works a lot, but he takes a few hours at the beginning of the stay to introduce you to the horses (I even created a manual to help), the property, and a list of possible tasks. After that, it’s up to you to manage. Same at home, the basics of living together are expected: setting the table, cleaning up, etc. You’ll have all the necessary comfort in a rustic and cozy atmosphere. It’s the countryside, and it feels great! At night, you can stay in a small cool room or in a large outdoor tent with a real bed. We were also lucky to attend family constellations with some clients, a therapy that works with the unconscious to help resolve personal issues. Méganne took care of cutting the grass with the weed-eater and mainly looked after the 8 horses (grooming, groundwork, or riding, with both experienced and beginner horses). She also taught Simon how to ride during free time. Note: all the horses are ridden bitless, either in classical or western style. Simon, being a construction engineer, drew several plans for future projects and also built a metal gate and a kennel together with the worker. For smaller side tasks, we helped tighten some fence wires, planted a few trees, moved piles of wood, built shelves, did some painting, cooking, organizing, egg collecting, etc. In conclusion: a fantastic experience with Francisco, Jacqueline, and Milan. We truly felt very well integrated into the family and lived a really authentic and sincere moment of life. A big thank you!
