Flavio and Nicolas were great! They were super helpful around the house, cooking for us sometimes and clearing away after meals. They only stayed a short time but worked very hard during this time, helping us to build a stone sculpture/ garden feature in the garden which involved heaving a lot of very heavy stones often in the pouring rain, which
… read more they did very willingly & cheerfully. They are lovely guys, super friendly & funny. I cannot recommend them highly enough.

Paul and Selena stayed with us in January en route home after six months travelling around Europe with their lovely dog Canye. We really enjoyed hosting them all. We had delicious meals together - they cooked for us and we cooked for them. We introduced them to typical Tuscan recipes like pasta with wild boar and they cooked delicious vegan meals
… read more for us which we loved. We very much enjoyed hearing about their travel adventures in their beautiful van and their life in France. We watched a fun tv programme together all about French wine!
Paul and Selena worked really hard for us helping in the garden & building a new pergola. They looked after the house and animals whilst we went away for a few days and cleaned the house from top to bottom really thoroughly.
I cannot recommend them highly enough. They are great company, lovely people, and very hard workers, willing to take on any project.
Thank you Paul and Selena for everything. We wish you good luck with your future plans & look forward to welcoming you back to Podere Fronzina.

Caroline and Anthony we're our salvation after another workaway didn't work out in short term. They let us come one day after contacting them, wich was great! And what can we say, sometimes unplanned things turn out absolutely great. We had an amazing time at their lovely place. They let us try knew things such as driving the mowing tracktor, wich

Jette and Luis spent nearly two weeks with is in May. They were great!! They worked really hard and were willing to turn their hand to anything. They did lots of jobs for us in the garden and we got so much done while they were with us. They are super friendly and very easy to have around the house. They are also very independent as they have

We really enjoyed hosting Sandra - she ended up staying nearly two months. She is a very kind, calm, easygoing person and a lovely presence to have in the house. She’s also funny! She is an excellent cook & can pretty much cook anything. She regularly baked delicious bread as well as yummy cakes and deserts. At Christmas she made us a traditional polish borscht which was really delicious.
Sandra speaks excellent English and we were able to have lots of interesting chats - I learnt a lot about Poland and contemporary Polish politics. She has a very enquiring mind and is open to learning about all sorts of things. She doesn’t speak any Italian however.
Sandra is a real animal lover. She adores our cats & dog Aubrey. She looked after them while we were away & I was very comfortable leaving them with her. She also walked Aubrey on a regular basis. She even did a great job grooming him!
Sandra was very helpful at Christmas when we had a full houseful of guests. She cleared away after meals, cleaned the kitchen, hoovered snd mopped, did ironing and prepared bedrooms. Her help and support made the whole time much less stressful and I’m really grateful to her.
I wish Sandra lots of luck and fulfilment in the future - she’s a lovely person to have around and I’m sure anyone who hosts her will enjoy getting to know her.

Caroline and Anthony took me in as a volunteer in a very short notice which I very much appreciate!
The house is seated on the hill with a beautiful view from which you can observe breathtaking sunrises and sunsets. It's very quiet area surrounded by olive trees, a few neighbors and fields.

… read more with art and renovated old furniture. There is also an outside pool unfortunately I didn't get to swim in it as it was already too cold when I arrived.
If it comes to my experience I was treated so well ! Caroline and Anthony are very nice, easy going people. They offered me a big separate room and a private bathroom (during a Christmas time a cottage with a kitchen, bathroom and a fireplace). I was invited to suppers with local wine, lighted candles and dessert... It felt like a visit in the restaurant ! Anthony and Caroline are amazing cooks and they are eager to share the recipes.
As I don't often eat meat I was very happy that they made sure to cook every few days a vegetarian meal. They made sure that I would have everything I need and asked me about food needs before shopping.
As Anthony and Caroline needed to leave for a month I was housesitting doing some refurbishment and taking care of the house and 5 adorable cats. During the free time I explored the area - I recommend to visit Siena and thermal baths (there are 3 close by). I enjoyed myself sitting in front of the fireplace reading. The house is filled with great books - art, history, nature, garden, cooking, novels, poems, you name it!
As I know that for Anthony and Caroline it was first their experience with volunteers I feel they managed it good. I hoped there would be more cultural exchange and talks but I understand that they were quite busy, especially during Christmas with their family visiting.
During my stay I fell in love with Aubrey the dog and the cats (so much cuteness in one place! ), Caroline's banana bread and Anthony's pasta with mussels.
If it comes to work it was very flexible and easy - taking care of the house, cats, painting, refurbishment, a little bit of plastering. I also cut Aubrey's hair (he looked so handsome afterwards!). I feel like I restored my batteries here and I needed that. So now I can get out there with more energy and enthusiasm and see what happens next!

Wiktor is a very energetic and hard working person. He helped us out with a lot of projects around the house (painting the kitchen cupboards, painting the office, installing new lights, putting a new roof on the pergola) as well as feeding the cats and other domestic duties. We ate together every evening which was fun and Wiktor appreciated our cooking. When we went away for three weeks he looked after the house and the cats and it was good to know everything was being well cared for.

Caroline and Anthony are very calm and easy going couple. They were very occupied at this time so we didn't spend much time together but it was generally nice. They gave me a nice big and comfy room with private bathroom and also offered to stay in the cottage next door for christmas time(when house was full with guests and I had nowhere to go)
… read more which I'm greatfull for. They would buy all the food I asked for and they gave me more than enough money to do my own shopping while they were away. They usually took care of cooking supper which was always delicious and served with local wines.
The house needs some finishing touch so the work was pretty simple: mostly painting, refurbishing, installing lights, cleaning and moving stuff around. For the time they were away I've done house sitting and cat feeding for them and I had plenty of time for myself.
I think they've done really well for their first Workaway experience and I was happy to be their first.
The place is quite remote and there are only 3 buses a day so I would recommend you have a car or at least a driving license. Caroline made me aware of this before coming here but it didn't stop me from exploring. ;)Só é possível entrar em contato com Workawayers com assinaturas ativas.
