Magnífica persona, ayudó en la huerta de la playa y con la piscina de la finca, se integró muy bien en la comunidad y fue muy divertido y agradable tenerla con nosotros. Repetiría sin dudarlo.

Let's start with saying it clearly - this place is like a second home. This place is unique because it allows you to find yourself in your own time and space. There is so many things going on at the same time, you need to be careful not to get overwhelmed :D Workshops, kirtans, yoga, sauna, chats next to the firebone. New experiences and new friendships awaiting you behind every corner. Food is 10/10 We slept in our own tent and it was very comfy Toilets are clean and nice I think it's the first place where we felt so appreciated by hosts and guests. It is very nice. Unfortunately, at some places on Workaway they treat you like a free working power but not in here. Here you can really feel a part of it. Part of something bigger. Thank you Wim and Chandra for creating such a blessing place.

Nixxi was an outstanding volunteer During her time with us, Nixxi always showed great attitude, responsibility, and willingness to help with anything needed. She is proactive, organized, and very kind with guests, which made a big difference in the atmosphere of the hostel. We truly appreciate her support and highly recommend Nixxi as a volunteer.

Bing stayed with us in San Cristobal for about a month, even more, showing always a will to help and friendliness towards our family and our guests. As a workawayer he woke up early in the mornings in order to help around with the tasks and later study Spanish in his free time. Devoted to us and the island. We were very happy to have him for this time and we wish him a good trip and safe travels all around the world. Thank you very much Bing. Welcome back anytime. Andres.

My stay with Rita and Fiona was very nice! They are very open and friendly and welcomed me to the home even for just a couple of days. In the morning I helped Fiona taking care of the horses and chickens and helped doing some tasks during the day. The food was amazing, my first time having real Mexican food! Rita even took me with her to the gym and to a salsa event which was very nice too and one time we went for a ride (my highlight). Thanks for having me!

We had the pleasure of hosting Pascal and he’s such a wonderful guy! Super kind, social and friendly, always positive and easy to get along with. He helped us a lot in the garden, especially fighting the weeds, and did a great job. We really enjoyed having him around and would definitely recommend him to any future host.

I stayed with Rhonda and Dan for a couple of weeks and had such a great time! They are super nice and welcoming, and made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. Dan even showed me how to play the guitar – thanks again for that, Dan! The property is beautiful, and the animals are amazing. I really enjoyed taking care of them and going for a ride on the mule, Lulu. The dogs are so lovely – I miss them a lot! Thank you, Rhonda and Dan, for inviting me into your home. I hope I can come visit you again sometime in the future. All the best from Germany!

Staying at this ranch with Eva was an unforgettable experience, what a privilege it was to meet someone so kind, generous, and deeply dedicated. Eva has created a truly special place, not just for the animals she cares for with such love, but for the people lucky enough to share a little slice of life there. She pours her heart into making sure the animals have a safe, comfortable home and lots of delicious food, but beyond that, she makes sure her guests feel just as welcome. From the little thoughtful gestures to the bigger things, she really cares. Whether it was preparing surprises in our daily tasks, treating us to a lovely local restaurant meal, keeping the fridge full, making us tasty smoothies, or ensuring the pool was maintained so we could unwind in our free time everything was done with love and care. Each working day brought something new: we got a real glimpse into the joys and challenges of modern ranch life. We learned how to use tools effectively, understood the needs of the land, and got to know Punky and Aston (the horses), Jack (the best dog ever), and the landscape itself. By night, the sky lit up with stars, a reminder of the beauty of the place we were lucky enough to call home for a while. Eva’s energy is tireless, her heart is full, and her mission is one of compassion. We learned so much from her and left feeling inspired by all that she does. We’re certain we’ll return to the ranch again one day. Until then lots of love to you all, and thank you from the bottom of our hearts. Azadeh & Shahriar

The time spent in the quiet El transito volunteering was a nice experience and exchange. The place is gorgeous, perfect for relaxing and surfing if you look for a more slow-peaced, not partying ambiance, even if you can find places around to party. I was there during low season so there were barely any guests, therefore I had a lot of spare time, but when there were guests, I was in charge of checking them in, being a bridge of communication between them and the staff that took care of more practical things, be around and helpful, make them feel at home. I also teached yoga. Even if the owners were not on site, we had a very good communication and Theresa is a lovely person, making sure from a distance that I am feeling welcomed. The staff are all locals who don't speak English so it's a good way of practicing your Spanish. The deal was really good since food was being provided on the days we had guests, otherwise you were allowed to use the kitchen and cook your own food. Surfboards were also part of the deal. So overall, I did enjoy my experience in the beautiful Nimbu and wishing all the best to the team! 🌞

Where to begin? First of all, the location, Punta Uva. It's such an amazing place! Calm, quiet, lots of nature, beautiful almost empty beaches. Only about 25 min with bike to Puerto Viejo if you want restaurants and party. The house, a big cool totally open space, good for workouts. It's in the jungle so there's insects, spiders and humidity! There's hot water and a comfortable bed. And the family! MC, such a loving, caring and direct woman. She will tell you what she is expecting of you, which I love! You will pretty soon learn how she wants things done so you won't have to wonder.. I became part of the family pretty quick. The kids will test the boundaries with you, as most kids would. But when you know where you have each other the love is endless! The dogs are a silly, loving bunch. They are a delight to take to the beach, they were just chilling while I did my swimming or workout. I ended up staying much longer than expected. I have nothing but good memories!

Our experience with Yufu and Francis far exceeded our expectations. It was our first volunteer experience and trip to Japan, and although we didn't quite know what to expect, they made their home a very welcoming place. They proved to be upright, conciliatory, and very communicative people. Our experience was very rewarding; experiencing a bit of life in rural Japan was spectacular. Enjoying the nature surrounding the home and being able to spend time with the people of the village made this volunteer experience very meaningful. Regarding the tasks we were assigned, they made sure they were tailored to our skills and experience, alternating between more challenging tasks and more relaxed ones. Thank you for allowing us to celebrate our National Day with you and for the good times we shared. We hope your project prospers and that you receive all the help you need. Jaa mata!

I stayed at Astrid's farm for 1 week and I had a fantastic time. I got to know the fascinating history of her farm and the beautiful village Kandal. We had great evenings with lots of delicious food and long discussions. The work was easy and fun and there was a lot of time for activities like helping the local fisherman retrieving his nets or hiking to a nearby glacier. Astrid is a wonderful person and I am grateful for my time at Skarstein Gard. :)

It was a pleasure to be a part of the Soley team. Tomas and his family are wonderful people—they are incredibly kind and treated me so well. Pilar, a strong mother who raised three great gentlemen, always made sure I was comfortable and had everything I needed. I enjoyed practicing my Spanish with her; she was so patient and understanding of my broken Spanish with a strong Thai accent. If you want to practice your Spanish, she's the person to talk to! Tomas is a super chill, direct, and easygoing guy. He really made an effort to find a good balance for all the volunteers so we could work hard but also enjoy life in gorgeous Pucón. I'm a bit of a neat freak, so I often found myself helping out with messes or things that were out of place, even on my days off. But Tomas was always great about reminding me to take my free time. The hostel is quite new, so my experience was a mix of construction and hospitality work. At first, I was doing all kinds of odd jobs like cleaning, gardening, and moving rocks. But once everything was up and running, I got to work as a receptionist and housekeeper. For my help, I got my own room, free laundry, a kayak to use, some basic food supplies (like rice, pasta, oil, salt, and sugar), and a free tour. My three weeks just flew by! Pucón is an amazing town with so many fun things to do. There are all kinds of activities, cozy cafés, and that incredible volcano view in the background. Don't miss the ice cream shops (they're on every corner) or the massive empanadas! You'll definitely love volunteering here!"

Violetta came and stayed at my farm for about two weeks in August. She is a very easy person to host, with a calm appearance, being hardworking and respectful. She had excellent skills, doing indoor house shores and cleaning (for example my kitchen has never been so clean since it was bright new as after Violetta put in some hours). She made me and the two other workawayers delicious meals as well. She also performed the tasks I gave her outside house the best possible way. I will give Violetta my warmest and best recommendations :)

I stayed only two weeks with Antonella and Claudio, but felt like I'd joined their family immediately. I was welcomed with open arms. I arrived on crutches with an injured leg (not part of the deal, sorry), and Antonella and her family went out of their way for me. Even driving me to Sorrento hospital for a routine check up. The bed and bathroom you get is great and the food is absolutely outstanding, I really valued the culture and new friendships I got to experience as a part of this. The kids are full to the brim with energy and their house is lively and fun. I'll really miss all of you (including Kaus the dog). Top tip: You will win instant respect with Raffaele if you can do the splits

Hailey was a very interesting volunteer! While appearing fragile and introverted at first, her appearance deceives. She worked harder and more efficiently than most of my previous volunteers doing the yucky weedwork with spiky and difficult plants. A great conversationalist, curious, bright, motivated, intelligent and easy going. Highly recommended!!!

This was my first Workaway experience, and I couldn't have made a better choice! I looked after a dog, Kiko, and a crew of cats — Mufasa, Apollo, Balls, Juno, and Zorro — though mainly Kiko, as he’s a great attention-seeker who needs lots of affection. I mainly got to know Robyn, as Petrus was away, but I had a lovely experience with both. I was really touched by Robyn's hospitality, warmth, and her efforts to accommodate my needs. She’s a very caring, interesting, and passionate woman, and I felt very lucky to be hosted there. The area is beautiful, and Kiko was a great companion for exploring some of the best gems around. I highly recommend this host! Thank you guys!
