Lene and Jason stayed for 3 weeks in November, For the most part they were helping with our olive harvest but also some small jobs around the house and some painting and decorating. For a young couple I was pleasantly surprised and impressed with their attitude, work ethic and enthusiasm. They are a really lovely couple and would highly recommend them.

Charles and Juliette are excellent workawayers!! I cannot recommend them too highly! They are charming, funny, interesting, hardworking and a pleasure to be with. It was fun meeting Juliette's family. All the best to them in whatever they do next!

Wilma & Harm were excellent hosts, we had wonderful conversations with them both and they went above and beyond to ensure we had opportunities to learn and enjoy ourselves. We loved learning about the coffee and cacao processes! Each day we had different tasks; general maintenance, painting, picking coffee beans, and maintaining jungle trails. We enjoyed coffee and conversation at our 9:30am coffee break each day, followed by a delicious lunch prepared by Wilma. The farm is set deep in the jungle, nestled amongst howling monkeys, beautiful bird life and of course all the insects and animals that come with it. We would recommend this place to anyone who would like to slow down their travels, enjoy nature, and a relaxed way of life. Also, make sure to try the local queso from Lalas! Este espacio no es suficiente para describir lo perfecta que fue la estadía de Prii. Llego al hostal con su brillo, su carisma, su autenticidad, un corazón genuino lleno de amistad y la idea clara de apoyarnos a que este hostal funcionara. Muchas veces tuvo las tareas hechas antes de tiempo. Hizo mas de lo que pedíamos en realidad, nos aporto y apoyo muchísimo. Desde el primer día conectó con el staff, fue como si ya fuese de casa. Su independencia es de valorar muchísimo, su iniciativa y proactividad, la amabilidad con los clientes y su perfecta organización. Tuvimos un acuerdo especial en el que se quedó todo un fin de semana a cargo del hostal por completo, no dudamos que lo dejamos en buenas manos y así fue, todo estuvo minuciosamente bajo control. Es una persona altamente confiable en todos los aspectos y altamente responsable en cualquier situación. Como voluntaria es 10/10 es muy comprometida, pero como amiga reconocemos que es demasiado genuina, con una energía que te abraza, y es lo que más destacamos de ti , Josh, Jeff, Luna y yo siempre te pensaremos, te extrañamos mucho y te amamos. En Guate tienes familia siempre!! Si estas aqui leyendo referencias para decidirte si aceptar su solicitud o no, ¿qué esperas? ¡Hazlo! Eize y Marina juntos hacen un equipo increíble de trabajo creativo y eficiente! Cuanto estuvieron por acá, yo ponía una idea un poco vaga de la tarea que necesitaba , Eize la concretaba en su cabeza y con Marina, la construían. Como cuando la gata Cali tuvo sus crías en el segundo piso de una repisa y ellos lograron construir una “pared flotante” de cartón, para que las pequeñitas tan importantes para mi, no se caigan. Y así fue con todo lo que hicieron en nuestro jardín huerta. Me encantaron las charlas de sobre mesa sobre Bolivia, con una perspectiva latinoamericana , creo, entre Marina y yo, y los complementos de Eize hablando de su país. Fue un gustazo tener por primera vez a una Mexicana y a un holandés como voluntarios! aunque me habría gustado que se queden más tiempo… Gracias por su trabajo en la huerta- jardín y por valorar mi comida! Creo que es, conocer y valorar mi país, también. Los abrazo muy fuerte , con Suri y Moro, les deseo mucha suerte en sus aventuras viajando y trabajando . Pd.-Eize, es cierto, el español puede ser muy impreciso, pero es cosa de usarlo bien, espero haberlo logrado en este mensaje!

Noemi and Paul are our hope for the next generations to come. Rarely we meet such a jung people who are open to explore various aproaches to living life. They helped us a lot with preparing gardens for spring, and they did it better then expected! They also helped with many small different tasks wich steal time in everyday life. Even though we didn't have some big projects going on, they helped us to close the season work. ;) We wish them great journey back home, to find what is best for them and get inspired for their way of living. We hope to see and host them again! 💚

Conectando con los huéspedes, compartiendo, planeando fiesta, noches de maquillaje y juegos, ademas en las tareas y responsabilidades de las actividades diarias de hostal era muy perfecta. Limpieza a profundidad, todo super bien hecho y estaré siempre muy agradecida por tu tiempo, tu carisma, tu puntualidad, tu responsabilidad, y ante todo por el amor hacia el hostal. Sabes que en Guatemala siempre tendrás casa y familia!

This was my first harvesting and it was such an amazing experience, everyone was hardworking, respectful and always communicated properly… The accommodation was comfortable, it was a shared bathroom which was clean and functional. Groceries were always provided, I stayed with three other volunteers and we cooked our own meals with what was given… it was no longer than a five hour day which was very convenient! It’s a thirty minute walk to the nearest bus station who takes you to the train station which is very is and not expensive (€2). It was definitely one of my favorite volunteers, I definitely recommend.

Anto was incredibly hardworking and helped with any tasks/jobs that we needed help with and I felt fully supported and able to reach out when we needed emotional and physical help. She is very kind and full of energy and the kids really liked her company and I also enjoyed talking to her . I fully trusted her to take my children out on day trips and also to watch them at home . She taught my youngest maths and really helped her to develop this skill. I hope she can come back and visit one day.

Gabriele was my first workaway, he is a very nice and welcoming man, I really loved his house and the cocoon I built in the room that was mine for a few days. the landscapes are breathtaking and I'll always miss Romeo (I'm his human now) I wish we would have spend more time together, it was a beautiful experience 😊 thank you for that

Yooo! This family was such a treat to visit, very respectful and everyone communicated so well!! The accommodation was comfortable with a lovely view… Lots of work such as: painting, walking Sam (they’re dog), sweeping the terrace, sorting out the garage and other places, smoothing wood, re styling furniture, a little bit of gardening etc… They always took me to the station, we played lots of games with family which was so much fun! Breakfast, lunch and dinner was always on time (the most delicious food) which was mostly cooked by Alberto.. They’re kids Rebecca and Noemi are such lovely children, very well behaved, energetic, funny and respectful, played more games with them as well… They station takes you to very nice locations and is not too expensive, and the little town is beautiful with little shops and delicious ice cream!! They also took me out for lunch by the sea side!! Lovely family, I definitely recommend!!

Giorgio was an incredible man, I just loved everything about this project, about this community.. it changed me, made me happy every day, to see this land grow little by little, to meet the wonderful people I've met there and just the thought of being part of this amazing community, giving some pieces of me in this land! He was always asking questions about how I feel here, about what things we could do to make this place better for people, the work was really chill and no pressure. it wasn't really about working, I felt like it was more about sharing. sharing love, laughter, stories, connexions, conversations.. I loved every piece of it, thank you for being you and for wanting to built such an amazing dream (the shower is perfect like this) so if you're comfortable with being in a land of paradise with no running water nor electricity for the moment and just love meeting incredible deep souls and feeling free in the nature, this place is perfect for you. I'll never forget our little family (Mo Katharina, Heather, Idris, you and I)

It was wonderful to meet someone like Emma. She's a very kind and respectful girl, and most importantly, she proved herself trustworthy, which is the most important thing when you host someone you don't know. Although this was her first experience with Workaway, she demonstrated her ability to adapt and her willingness to take initiative. Even though my house is small, she always kept it tidy and clean, especially the kitchen, and left everything spotless. She also helped me learn new English words and taught me a lot about her country, Sweden. When she was at home, you barely noticed her because she was so quiet. I would be very happy to host her again, and I highly recommend her. I wish her all the best in her future travels.

Johanna and Linnea stayed with us for 3 weeks during the summer and we loved It. They are the perfect balance between joy and deepness. Always smiling, singing (with their beautiful voices), and ready for a meaningfull conversation. During those weeks, they helped us with the garden, taking care of the chicken, building clay walls, cooking and any other task that was proposed. They are always ready to help and not only that but with passion. Theres so much more we could say about this two women that we call Friends now, but we recommend you to know them yourself!

Saran is a super nice and smart person. She was with us for a short time, but picked up everything really quickly and i didn't need to worry about anything. ; -) She also visited my family at home and we had a great time together. If you can host her you won't regret it. She is just wonderful.

This was my first experience with Workaway, and it was truly a unique one. There were hardly any tasks to do, just helping with English during our conversations and following a few simple house rules. Makhlouf is an exceptionally generous host. He provided everything I needed and showed great hospitality with almost no expectations in return. He even gave me his room while he slept on the couch, made sure I was comfortable throughout my stay, and offered me vegetarian meals and desserts. He also encouraged me to use his video games among other things freely. I really appreciate the new friendship I’ve made and feel grateful for the time I spent in Makhlouf’s home. It all felt very natural and even though our schedules overlapped during my stay, we still had time to share great conversations about life and have lots of laughter, just like good friends.

We feel so lucky to have been able to spend ten weeks with Elizabeth on her wonderful farm in Bussiere-Galant. Having initially arranged the Workaway stay to be two months long, Elizabeth kindly let us start early when we needed to vacate a previous Workaway stay ahead of schedule. She welcomed us with open arms, immediately putting us at ease and showing us the lovely gite which was to be our home. We also met Lily, Poppy, Ted and Flori, Hugo and Flower, who all became our faithful friends (well maybe not Hugo so much!), and the other animals out in the fields. Together we walked round the garden, paddocks and woods to chat about what might need doing. Elizabeth was keen to hear what we thought and it was nice to share ideas, but also appreciate all the work she has already done in making her little slice of paradise. We soon created a plan of what tools we’d need and where we’d start work, which included restoration and maintenance of trees, paddocks and woods, working in the garden, tidying fences and lots of other things - there was plenty of variety if the weather was wet or we fancied a change of scene. Daily life was very relaxed, Elizabeth allowed us to set our own start and finish times to encompass the required hours but was involved in day-to-day decisions and was always available to discuss things or answer questions. Most days, weather permitting, we’d sit down together in the sun and talk about the morning’s work over a beer or wine, which was a really nice way to finish. As well as working on the property, we were able to visit a fair few places both close by and further afield, and Elizabeth always had plenty of suggestions and advice on where to head for. We had fun going to a couple of vide greniers together, looking for bargains and buying second hand tools for the garden at a house clearance. Our accommodation was great, very comfortable and allowed us to self-cater with a weekly allowance from Elizabeth, but we were also invited for some lovely meals, cakes and cheese and wine. We were more than happy to house sit to allow Elizabeth to have a few nights away occasionally, and loved looking after the animals. We loved our time with you Elizabeth and were pleased to be able to help get some jobs done and off the list to help free up your time. Thank you for your kindness, we hope to visit you again one day.

Beshariq is an amazing town with some great local food and people. Nasiba and her school fits right in with the surrondings. If you attend you can expect to have great conversations with students and locals while staying in a comfortable house.

It was fun spending time with Sophie and Benji here! They came to Osaka all the way from Hokkaido by a small van with surf boards, and I was immediately impressed by their style of enjoying Japanese culture by traveling around. They mainly helped me renovating walls of a room by pasting shikkui on the walls. I also didn't know how to work with shikkui, but they quickly learned by themselves and becase shikkui masters. They are also good at cooking, cleaning, and organizing. They went to travel other cities by the van after here, and I hope they are enjoying their trips all over Japan. Looking forward to seeing them again!

My time in Batu Pahat was one of the best experiences ive had. Jojo is a very caring and experienced teacher who can work with any skill level, please visit if you have the chance you wont regret it!
