Hi, I'm Josh.

In December 2024 I packed up my life in Brisbane, Australia for an adventure abroad. Back home, I've built a career in communications and marketing, but I realised I was coming to the end of my 20's and hadn't seen much of the world (although to be fair, Australia is quite far away from most places!).

I'm have a 12-month working holiday visa which allows me to travel across Europe and work in Germany. I'm taking the year to explore Europe and started my trip with an incredible two months backpacking through 12 countries on my way to Berlin. I've since had an incredible Workaway experience near the German / Netherlands border in North Rhine-Westphalia, supporting a family to prepare their small farm for the new season, general maintenance, cleaning and yardwork, working with animals, and supporting with their three young kids.

I enjoy healthy living and enjoy cooking and trying new cuisines. I also love running and swimming and will sign up for the occasional endurance challenge (a few marathons and triathlons these past few years). I'm a very easy-going person, enjoy good conversation as well as my own time, and I like to think I'm hardworking and can bring a lot to your stay. I'd also like to better understand the culture, language and people in countries across Europe and Workaway seems like a great opportunity to do so.

At this stage I'll be based in Germany with a few trips planned in April (The Netherlands, Egypt, France) and July (Greece). I'm up for all kinds of experiences and challenges.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

My education and career experience lies in communications, journalism, public relations and marketing. I've spent the last 7/8 years working in consultancy with major national and international clients and brands.

Outside of work, I'm an amateur cook. I regularly host and cook for my friends and families. It's something I really enjoy doing and learning about. I typically cook either mediterranean, Indian or Italian cuisine.

I don't have specific trade skills but I am a hard and dedicated worker who's up to support with any DIY, construction or general day-to-day house projects.
