I am a university graduate taking a Working Holiday gap year in New Zealand, and I would love to try volunteer and travel during this time. What I really love about traveling is the sense of adventure, and discovering new places and people and learning about their history. I really want to discover off-the-beaten path locations and interact with the locals on a more personal level, as well as give back to the areas I am visiting. I think Workaway offers a great opportunity for that.
I have done volunteering only once, in a permacultural garden in Spain, and it was a great experience to meet both the locals and other international volunteers. I am especially interested in projects that involve sustainability and/or take place near nature because I just love nature and spending time outdoors. Apart from that, I also enjoy reading, creative writing, and the sport ultimate frisbee.
I would consider myself an introvert, and I especially enjoy connecting with other people in smaller and cozier social settings rather than large parties and high-energy environments. I also prefer to have some alone time to recover and enjoy time with myself, so I really appreciate when a bit of privacy is available. That being said, I am willing to go out of my comfort zone for the right opportunities because I think that that's the best way to experience and learn new things in life.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I'm enthusiastic about creative work, especially if it involves writing or story-telling, though I'm definitely nobody's Shakespeare. I have some gardening experience from helping out my parents (things like watering plants, planting herbs and trees, weeding, pruning branches, etc.), and even helped build a dam out of rocks, silt, and recycled tires on my previous volunteering experience. I have some basic experience with manual work like (Ikea) furniture assembly and painting walls and furniture, and I am down to learn anything new. I don't have a problem with getting my hands dirty, working in poor weather, or sleeping outdoors in a tent.
As for my language skills, I speak Czech and English fluently and understand some Spanish, although I have trouble expressing myself in Spanish. However, I would be very excited to both learn and teach languages.
