Description

Hello, my name is Kaon Nabetani. I'm currently taking a well-deserved break from university to explore the world and gain some new perspectives before diving back in. My long-term goal is to become a teacher who can truly make a positive impact on students' lives.

This gap year adventure is all about immersing myself in different cultures and meeting all sorts of interesting people. My first stop was Australia – I spent four months there, working on a banana farm and at a Japanese restaurant. The restaurant experience was truly eye-opening. While working on the farm, I found myself feeling a bit disconnected from my Japanese heritage. However, at the restaurant, I had the pleasure of meeting so many customers who were incredibly interested in Japanese culture. Their enthusiasm really reignited my own pride in my heritage and helped me build my confidence as a Japanese person. Now, I'm in Mexico, completely focused on learning Spanish and expanding my horizons even further.

I work as an online Japanese tutor, teaching students from various countries using English as the medium. It brings me great joy to share the Japanese language and culture with anyone interested."


◎physical strength
Where I grew up is very rural area with mountains, and I enjoyed physical activities since when I was a small kid, so I have a confident about my physical strength. I want to help anything including manual labor.

◎ Curiosity
I'm always interested in learning new things, no matter the challenge.
With each attempt, I aim to improve my skills.

I love 1960s to1970s singers, like James Brown, Earth, Wind & Fire, Bob Marley. I have great respect for the contributions they have made to American music culture. And I enjoy dancing with those funk, soul, R&B music.

My favorite book is autobiographical and philosophy book such as Tuesdays with Morrie, Born a Crime. If you have any recommendation, please share with me💭 Once I improve my spanish I want to try reading them in Spanish too!
