    1. About me

Hi! I’m Dominik – a 25-year-old guy from Poland with a background in psychology and a strong passion for nature, people, and meaningful conversations.

I hold a Master’s degree in Psychology, but I’ve never been drawn to the typical “career path.” Right now, I want to see the World, learn more about people, cultures, different lifestyles.
I see myself as a traveller – in both the physical and philosophical sense.
And I want this “being a traveller” to be a part of my future career.

I grew up hiking, camping, and learning survival skills from my father (a survival instructor). Over the years, I’ve helped him run survival camps, and I became confident in using tools like knives, axes, saws, and shovels. I don’t mind the rain, cold, or hard work – I actually enjoy it (in some way).

During my studies, I worked in customer service, HR, and event organisation. These roles taught me how to stay calm under pressure, communicate clearly, and be a reliable team member.

    2. Why I travel

Books like The Lord of the Rings or Ranger’s Apprentice shaped my early fascination with adventure. I’ve always felt the need to explore, learn from people, and challenge myself in unfamiliar settings.

I’m currently travelling not to escape anything – but to grow, serve, and see the world through different eyes. I believe that life becomes richer when we share it with others, and that’s what I hope to do through Workaway.

    3. What I enjoy & care about

    – Hiking, camping, spending time outdoors
    – Physical tasks and working with tools
    – Conversations about psychology, motivation, and modern stoicism (I still find it difficult to discuss this topics in English, but I will do my best)
    – Learning new skills and perspectives
    – Being around animals and nature
    – Mutual search for meaning in life

    4. What I can offer as a volunteer

    – Physical stamina and willingness to help wherever needed
    – Practical skills from survival camps and mountain life
    – A calm and positive attitude, even under pressure
    – Good communication and teamwork
    – A serious commitment to the work and to mutual respect

    4. A few things I’ve learned so far

I learned that there's no courage in fearlessness, there's courage in being terrified and still moving forward.
I learned how important it is to find the aurea mediocritas between the need for agency and accepting fate.
I learned to be open and willing to learn ;)
And I wish to learn more.

    5. Some of my dreams and life goals:

    - To build an eco-friendly bio-home far away from the noise of the city – using natural, healthy materials, minimal plastic, aiming for self-sufficiency and harmony with the surrounding nature (and to do it before I'm 50 :D)

    - To gain enough life experience and complete the right courses to help people as a coach-psychologist (I mean the real, evidence-based coaching, not this pop-psychology hocus-pocus).

    - To fully move my physical training from the gym to outdoor, nature-based training (the first dream on the list comes together with this one :D)

    - To have the space and opportunity to take care of at least two dogs (again, the first dream would also be helpful with this one)

    - And many more...

    5. Want to know what kind of music or movies I like?
Ask me by the campfire 😉

  • Autres infos...

Physical activity is a part of my life, so access to a gym (even the simplest, outdoor one) is significant to me. Even after physical work, I may need to do a few pull-ups, so having even a pull bar would be perfect. Of course, this is not necessary, and I will settle for a tree with a solid branch and a place to do a few push-ups as well.

Please bear in mind that as an active person (and as a male) I eat a lot (3000+ kcal on active days).
But I am not a picky eater, I am open to every cuisine. I would also gladly cook something for you.

    I love animals.
I took care of my dog for 14 years (she passed away recently).
I am not experienced with farm creatures, but I’ve gained experience taking care of over 70 sled dogs – feeding, cleaning, treating wounds, and basic training.I’m not a professional, but I understand the risks and what it takes to work with animals. And I’m not afraid to get my hands dirty.
I would gladly learn how to take care of your animals.
