We are two best friends from Copenhagen, Denmark, traveling through Ireland for the month of July. We are two warm, openhearted, and fun-loving young women (both 22 years old). During our trip, we're hoping to spend a week volunteering – meeting new people, experiencing local life, and contributing wherever we can. We think Workaway is the perfect way to do just that.

Metha is an enthusiastic knitter (and incredibly talented at it!). She also enjoys making homemade treats like mayonnaise, hummus, and pickled onions – always with love and care.
Carla is a passionate film lover who finds joy in catching a 10 a.m. screening on a Thursday morning and analyzing every detail afterwards with great enthusiasm.

We met in 2019 at a high school focused on music and performing arts in Copenhagen. Metha graduated with a major in social studies and English, while Carla studied dramatic arts and music. Since then, we've remained best friends and share a love for creativity, good conversation, and exploring new places.

We’re both responsible, kind, and eager to learn – and we’d be so happy to contribute to your project or household while getting a glimpse of life in Ireland.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Cooking & food prep: We both enjoy cooking, with Metha specializing in homemade hummus, mayo, and jams. Carla is an avid baker, having grown up watching The Great Danish Bake-Off. We’re both great at following recipes and helping with meal planning.

Childcare: We have experience babysitting and love spending time with kids, whether it’s playing games, doing crafts, or reading stories.

Cleaning & household tasks: We’re used to helping around the house and are happy to clean, organize, do laundry, or help with any other household chores.

Gardening: Carla has a green thumb and loves spending time in the garden, a passion developed from helping her grandparents in the countryside. While her gardening is now limited to a small balcony in Copenhagen, she still enjoys caring for plants. We’re both eager to help with gardening tasks and love learning along the way.

DIY & practical skills: Carla has hands-on experience with building shelves, painting kitchens and windows, and working with outdoor woodwork. She also enjoys creative painting projects in her spare time.

Creative & textile skills: Metha is a talented knitter and works with textiles daily. She enjoys crafting, mending, and creating by hand, bringing a calm and detailed approach to any creative work.

Sustainability & education: Metha currently teaches sustainability at public schools in Copenhagen, helping children understand the importance of eco-friendly practices. We’re both passionate about sustainability and would love to help with gardening, composting, recycling, or any other green initiatives.

People skills: We’re friendly, adaptable, and enjoy meeting new people. We work well in teams, love learning from others, and are happy to go with the flow when plans change, while always prioritizing good communication.

We’re excited to learn new skills and happy to help with whatever is needed.
And just so you know – we may not look like bodybuilders, but we’re stronger than we seem and not afraid of a bit of physical work!

Metha is currently working as a sustainability advocate with a government initiative called "Bæredygtig Generation," educating children in public schools in Copenhagen about sustainability. She also attended a boarding school focused on craftsmanship and textile work in the fall of 2023, expanding her knowledge and passion for handmade crafts and sustainable practices.

Carla is currently working as a substitute teacher for K-9th grade in public schools. She has also worked in special needs education, supporting children with a variety of severe disabilities. Acting is her main passion, and she’s currently working towards getting into The Danish National School of Performing Arts in Denmark :)

  Allergies
  Carla has an allergy to dogs and cats, but she loves them! She is very responsible about taking her allergy medications, and if the hosts have pets, it won’t be a problem at all. Her family also has dogs, despite her allergy, so she is used to managing it
