Hello! It's feels good to be here :)

My name is Anais! I am born in Belgium and raised in South Africa. Up until I finished school, I grew up on a farm in South Africa in the winelands region - a small, beautiful and nature-filled valley. Growing up, my family and I would go hiking almost every weekend. Having grown up near Cape Town, I've also had the privilege to have the stunning Atlantic coast 40 minutes away from where I stay. I love the ocean, the mountains surrounding and the lush forests. With this upbringing, I developed a strong connection to nature. With confidence, I can say that I am a lover of the environment and passionate about sustainability. Therefore, I went on to study Economics and Sustainability in the Netherlands.

Holistic wellness is also something that gives light to my life. For example, I have incorporated yoga into my routine for the past 5 years 3-4 times a week. Alongside, I feel connected to breath work, meditation, sound healing, and other forms such as ecstatic dance.

I am also a lover of people and tend to connect quite easily with other humans. My ability to get along with all kinds of people has likely come from the various environments and contexts that I have found myself in. I have had the opportunity to travel through events such as my internship or university exchange programme! On this note, I also have a passion for creating beautiful and fun spaces for people to connect.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

As mentioned in my profile-description, I studied Economics and Sustainability. My studies in the Netherlands had a 'problem-based learning' approach to learning. Within this structure, you learn that collaboration and team work is essential to success. Thus, alongside my theoretical knowledge in sustainability I have learn't the beauty in collaboration and a group-oriented approach to tasks.

From there, I did an internship within the field of Biomimicry. I then proceeded to do an internship at Lotus Bakeries in Belgium, in the field of Sustainability (ESG). Within these internships I learned to work in a committed routine and to deliver projects within the working field at a very high standard.

Additionally, having grown up on a wine-farm, I am familiar with the process of wine and champagne making. Moreover, we have a vegetable garden at home that I helped to maintain. Generally, I have a good understanding of landscaping and gardening. Furthermore, I am very passionate about yoga and have my 200hrs YTT certificate. I also love other sports such as tennis, surfing, callisthenics, hiking etc. Moreover, I have a creative nature. I did art as one of my main subjects in high-school. I also really enjoy reflective & creative writing, as well as photography. Another 'hard-skill' of mine is that I have my TEFL English teaching course.

Lastly, my soft skills include: adaptability and easy connection to people, reliability, pro-activity, commitment, hard-working, social, and creative.

I love adventure and spontaneity! I also love social events and creating beautiful and fun spaces where people can come together and connect. I also find it important to find time to be grounded and calm. It's all about balance!
