Hello Workaway Family!

We are Melis and Felix, a couple from Turkey and France, both 24 years old, product designers, and passionate travelers. We first met during our internship and traveled together in Italy during the summer of 2023. Since then, we’ve continued our adventures in Turkey and France, sharing our cultures, favorite places, historical sites, stunning landscapes, and building connections with local people.

Felix is from Lyon, France, and is deeply passionate about travel and nature. He has visited 12 countries, mostly in Europe, with distant destinations like Thailand and Guadeloupe on his list. His love for the sea and underwater world has led him to practice water sports like paddleboarding, swimming, and scuba diving (Level 1). An athlete at heart, he competed in alpine skiing at a high level for 8 years and enjoys various sports depending on the season. For Felix, traveling is not just an activity; it's a way of life, and he finds joy in exploring new cultures and sharing enriching experiences. Active and detail-oriented, he takes great care in performing both physical and intellectual tasks.

Melis is from Izmir, Turkey, a city known for its calm, Mediterranean climate and beautiful coastal areas. After completing her Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design in Ankara, she returned to her hometown and worked in the design and marketing field. She has a deep love for traveling, painting (especially gouache and watercolor), sailing (she was part of her university's sailing club), cycling, cooking, and discussing films and cinema.

Together, we’ve decided to explore Asia, with Thailand as our first destination! We believe in the power of nature to bring balance and peace, and we enjoy spending time outdoors to connect with the environment. We’re excited to go beyond the touristy spots and immerse ourselves in the local culture—learning about traditions, cuisine, language, and daily life. We’re eager to meet new people, share experiences, and explore both the rural and urban sides of Thailand.

Though this is our first time using Workaway, we’ve both been dreaming of volunteering abroad for years. Now, we’ve created our profile and are ready for the adventure of a lifetime!

We both have different native languages so communicating in English is the key :) We are interested in learning/ teaching our languages to each other. Of course we can teach also to you Turkish and French and willing to learn new languages.

Que habilidades tienes?

We are both designers so we have software programes for graphic design, video creation and 3D modeling. We have ability to contribute to your projects' brand identity and visual design. Melis worked before as Social Media Manager in different companies and student clubs.
Other than that, we want to learn about construction, gardening and farm-life. We want to contribute to sustainability projects in this platform.
We are friendly, easy-going, and social people, so it’s easy to talk to us. Once we understand what you need, we can quickly learn and do it.
