  We are able to accommodate one workawayer from March 20 onwards. Speaking German would be one of the most helpful skills you could bring, to increase communication with my parents.

  Hello! Hallo, grüezi! Welcome to Calgary!
  
  We are offering a private room and shared bathroom in a beautiful house in the Varsity neighbourhood of Calgary (12-min walk to University of Calgary's MacEwan Hall).
  
  The house belongs to an elderly German-and-Swiss couple, who have lived here since the late 1970's and who taught at the UofC. If you speak German, (or even Schwyzerdütsch!) that will be a big plus! (Just like the Swiss flag, a big plus ;) )
  
  
  The work: we would need some help around the house with things like meal preparation (vegetarian), kitty-care, and general company and attention for my parents (and the kitties!) We are working on writing down their life-stories, so if you enjoy this kind of thing, your company in the project would be great!
  
  The person organizing this (me) is the 40-year-old daughter, and I frequently stay in the house as well.
  
  The residence is a 10-min walk to Market Mall, a 12-min walk to the LRT, and there is space for parking.
  
  The room available is in the upstairs guest room, which gets morning sun, and has a closet and many books (including German books). Since it is right next to my room, it does not have much privacy, but hopefully you would enjoy being visited by the two resident kitties! The bathroom is shared by with me. You're also very welcome to use the (vegetarian) kitchen, and other parts of the house for studying/reading. This house was full of children when I was growing up, so there is lots of space. The house has a piano, and plenty of outdoor space as well. Utilities and wifi included.
  
  We are looking for someone organized, motivated, kind, caring, positive, good with cats and elderly people, respecting the vegetarian kitchen, (no partying, drama or addictions please). Please respond with why you would like to live here, your situation, and references would be a big plus as well! (Just like the Swiss flag, as mentioned ;) )
  
  I plan to meet/show the place via video first, and then we can meet in person and proceed from there. Thank you!

  My parents are both very interesting people with funny stories to share; I believe you would enjoy their company while helping us with our home, in a setting that is close to transportation within Calgary and the surrounding area.

If you have literary interests it's another big plus, as we are collecting my parents' stories from growing up in Germany/Switzerland in the 1940's and later.
