Following a friendly video call, Molly came to us on fairly short notice and was a lovely person to have stay. Despite the poor weather, she approached every task with great willingness, which included harvesting the remaining vegetables, gathering seaweed, and preparing the vegetable plots for the next growing season. Molly also helped to gather and to dose the sheep in preparation for the forthcoming winter and helped with all sorts of odd jobs around the place. We had engaging conversations about life and culture in the USA, Irish culture and history, and the world we live in. During her short stay, she made the most of her time in Sligo, swimming in the cool Atlantic Ocean, going for long walks along the sandy beach, hiking mountain paths, enjoying the traditional music of local musicians, the cinema and the theatre, and a few visits to traditional Irish pubs. I had an amazing two-week stay with David and couldn’t have asked for a better host. He is incredibly kind, generous, and welcoming, and from the very beginning he made me feel like part of his family. The work was enjoyable and well balanced. Some of the tasks included weeding, fertilizing trees, and picking up fruit from the ground, which felt meaningful and rewarding. David is also a great cook and prepares tasty, healthy meals, especially delicious salads that I really enjoyed. Beyond the work, the experience was rich and social. I met his friends, and we went on hikes together, which were a highlight of my stay. In the evenings, listening to David play music was one of my favorite moments, and we also watched some great movies together. Overall, David was an exceptional host, and my time at his place was truly special. I would absolutely recommend staying with him to anyone looking for a warm, enjoyable, and memorable Workaway experience.

Wow, what an amazing experience. Our hosts were so friendly and made sure we saw as much of St. Lucia as possible. We were given lots of opportunities to use our skills and we felt very appreciated. Transportation, food and lodging were well planned. We felt immersed in the local culture and our hosts ensured we had opportunities to engage with their family/ friends. Thank you so much for this opportunity!

We were lucky enough to have stayed with Clara for 2 weeks. We helped with an olive harvest, and with small jobs around the house as well as looking after her dog Ella when Clara was away for the weekend. Ella will love you if you throw the ball for her, over and over and over and over again!! We really enjoyed spending time with Clara, and her two boys Theo and Rafi. They are all super easy going and have a good sense of humour. There are nice hikes to do not far from the house. Clara gave us some good recommendations. The house is about a 30 minute walk from Inca, and has really nice views of the mountains in the area. It’s really nice to be out in the nature. We’d love to come back one day!

I lived with Meghann, Ryan, and their beautiful family for seven weeks, and then spent another three weeks house-sitting. All the work I did during those ten weeks was returned to me in the form of generosity, love, and an experience that is forever etched in my heart. My experience in Yukon has been one of the most beautiful of my life, and I can honestly say that they are the reason it was so special. Everything I was able to share with this family and their surroundings far exceeded all my expectations. Most of the work involved preparing the property for winter, especially cutting and stacking firewood, along with many other tasks. We worked hard in the forest and around the property; I helped inside the house with daily chores and had the opportunity to learn through small projects related to carpentry, plumbing, and mechanics. In return, they did everything possible to ensure I could fully enjoy the surroundings, both on my own and with the family. They went out of their way to make sure I was comfortable and truly enjoying the experience. The food was always excellent, and the accommodation was great as well (I spent some time living in the fifth wheel and some time in the guest room). Thank you!!!!

It’s hard to capture exactly how dreamy my stay with Debra was! It was exactly the kind of experience travellers on here are hoping to find - a melting pot of languages, cultures, food & local community, making for a rich exchange and memories to last a lifetime! Given that this was the first Workaway, there wasn’t a set routine but Debra was very relaxed and flexible with how we organised the days. Naturally we found a good rhythm between us to get through our ‘to-do’ list that we brainstormed over breakfast (still thinking about those hoecakes and the pear & clove jam!!). Tasks included pruning olive trees, clearing wood piles, making fires, picking & canning fruit and occasionally preparing aperitivi or dinners with friends. I always felt very supported to try new things and I appreciate how patient and encouraging Debra was whilst I practiced real-time learning of the language. Debra is truly a strong, talented and inspiring woman. She has a profound connection with nature, and the love poured into her house and surrounding grounds speaks for itself. There is no doubt plenty of work to do but when you’re in an environment as peaceful and nurturing as this it’s always rewarding. The location is magical, the panoramic view alone is easily one of the highlights. It was fascinating to discover this hidden part of Umbria and to learn about the history and insight behind the construction of the house, reshaping my understanding of stone and architecture. If you’re a foodie, have a genuine appreciation of the arts, an interest and passion for the Italian language and culture and enjoy living alongside Mother Nature, then your experience will hardly fall short of exceptional ! I cannot express my gratitude enough, I am so glad our paths crossed. I miss you all terribly and cannot wait to see you again! 🐞🩷

Oh Cecilia!!! She is a very proactive and energetic volunteer, always willing to help 😌 Cheerful, funny, and easy to have around at home or in any project. She brings a light and positive energy to daily tasks. Even when she doesn’t know how to do something yet, she never says no …..she wants to learn and genuinely help.🤩 Muito disposta, com boa energia e sempre pronta para ajudar. Barbara is a great host, very kind, welcoming, and always helpful. I felt comfortable from the beginning and truly enjoyed my time. Highly recommended.

My experience with Agnese, Daniele, Emma, Cecilia, Gabriele and Virgi was incredible ! If you wish to stay with a welcoming family where you will eat VERY well and where you will be surrounded by friendly dogs in a beautiful countryside, this is the place to be. My main job was to take care of the dogs when Agnese and Daniele went to beauty shows for dogs. The typical schedule was (more or less, It often took me less time) : • 8-11am : letting the dogs out, feeding them, changing their water, giving food to the chickens and the donkeys, cleaning the pens, washing the dog bowls • 12:30pm : feeding the cute puppies • 6pm : feeding the dogs again I also left the dogs from the house outside all day long. The hardest part was to remember all the names ! The schedule might look quite busy written like this, but 1) I had a lot of time to read, journal, draw and walk; 2) it's totally counterbalanced by the days when Agnese and Daniele are here. Indeed, I was able to visit many places in Italy - a bit more than 20 cities/towns/villages ! For example, I've spent 4 nights in a row in Venice. Agnese and Daniele always brought me to the train station when I asked, and I was also able to drive their car. They shared a lot of good recommandations with me. When they were here, I often only worked in the mornings so I could do some hikes during the afternoon. I just needed to communicate my wishes with the hosts, and it was very easy to do so. To cut a long story short : this is a wonderful family with many cute dogs where you can discover Italy, learn Italian (especially with Beppe), taste a lot of good food and have interesting and funny discussions.

Staying with Luc and Andreza was a truly beautiful and heart-warming experience💫 From the very first day, I felt welcomed with such openness, kindness, and genuine hospitality. They surrounded me with warmth and made their home feel like a safe, cozy space where I could fully relax and be myself. Living with them for two weeks felt very natural and comfortable. We shared creative moments and wonderful time together, and I truly felt that we became friends. This connection made the experience especially precious to me🧚✨ There was so much creativity, and the yoga practices we shared were simply beautiful and nourishing for both body and soul. I will remember this time with great warmth and gratitude, and I know these memories will stay in my heart for a long time❤️ Thank you, Luc and Andreza, for your generosity, openness, and the loving atmosphere you created. This experience meant a lot to me 🫶🧚🫶

Alexandra is a truly amazing being! So much kindness and compassion, so much care and intention connected with understanding, meaning, purpose. Her values are rooted and absolutely relevant and necessary to anyone and everyone. We highly recommend her to anyone out there and we are so grateful for having her stay at our place for about two magical months. We recognized a lifelong friend in her and she'll always be welcome as part of our team and as part of our family. Lali stayed with us for about 2 weeks. She is very mature and pro-active, she sees where she can help and she does it with conviction. It was a true pleasure having her around: as a guest, as company, and as a helping hand. I wish for her that she continues to move forward with the spirit she has. Both me and my kids will genuinely miss her and she's welcome to visit us again any time!

It was a pleasure having Valerie with us from April through August; her presence made a real difference. She was incredibly hardworking and showed great resilience. Even on long days when the work was physically demanding, she always found that 'last push' of energy to get the job done. She was also very meticulous and had good instincts. It is rare that we allow others to prune the blueberry bushes, since most find the task too complicated, but Valerie picked it up right away with very little difficulty. Beyond her work ethic, she was friendly, agreeable, and fit right in with the family. Whether she was pruning, planting, or weeding, she did so with a positive attitude. We truly enjoyed her company and the interesting conversations shared around the dinner table. She is a kind soul who showed great respect for the land and the work we do. We would welcome her back anytime and highly recommend her to any future host!

My Hungarian experience has become x10 times better after meeting Anna ! I have spent 2 wonderful weeks volunteering at Anna's place. My main task was simple & straightforward, help around, organize things, cleaning stuff and bring up firewood. Generally it was nothing too complicated. Once in a while there might be some construction work like breaking down a wall! But Anna will do it with you! Anna values initiative, pro-active and team work spirit. If you are reading this and possess such values, you will have a great volunteering experience with Anna. Anna is a kind, caring and strong human being. Upon learning more about her story, she definitely did not had it easy but still decided to keep pursuing her goal and dreams. I can't help but admire her courage and get inspired by her perseverance. She is one of the braves, an absolute badass character from a movie. When we are not working, we will be having great conversations about everything, she is knowledgeable on many topics and willing to share it all to me. Our dynamic slowly turn from "host - volunteer" into "old friend - house mate" vibe, we end up doing many things together. From cleaning the house to walking to nearby lake. I particularly enjoyed preparing the ingredients for her during cooking time. Anna is an amazing chef, turning the simplest ingredients into magnificent Hungarian dish. How do I know ? I remembered my first meal after leaving her place and knew it with a sinking heart that the good old days of delicious simple home cooked Hungarian food has really kissed me goodbye. Another telltale sign is that I have gained weight. Food aside, Anna is just an amazing company and a greater friend. I look forward to the day of returning to Hungary because I knew there will be an old friend waiting with a warm house, which we can share endless conversations & laughter together again. Until that day, take good care and best of wishes. Thank you Anna, for being part of my wonderful journey in life !

It was a pleasure having Jesús on our team for the 2025 season. He is a remarkably hardworking and knowledgeable worker who tackled every challenge with grit and perseverance, even in the most demanding weather conditions. While we hope that he was able to learn new things from this experience, Jesús arrived with an already impressive level of farming expertise, so there was little for us to teach him. He is welcome back anytime, and we wish him nothing but the best. If we ever find ourselves in Chile, we’ll certainly be looking him up to explore the local culture—and to finally see those wild potato varieties he spoke so passionately about!

Sin duda Saskia es una workawayer que mi familia y yo nunca olvidaremos. Se fue ayer y ya estamos deseando verla de nuevo. Es una chica con comportamiento excelente (10/10). Tiene una educación exquisita y su único objetivo es que siempre todo esté perfecto. Además, maneja perfectamente el español y nunca tuvo problemas con todos los imprevistos que han ido surgiendo. Te echaremos mucho de menos Saskia!

We had a great experience with Damien and Kasia and baby Loli. They helped us with cooking cleaning, fixing our caravan and other things. They are great with kids, our babies became good friends;) Very respectfull, calm and can organize themselves. Always welcome to come back!

Nico ha sido un buen ayudante voluntario a pesar de que durante su estancia yo tuve que ausentarme a diario por razones de trabajo. Eso hizo que no pudiera darle los trabajos e instrucciones que desearía. De todas formas fue muy agradable su estadía, cumplió con los trabajos, reglas de la casa, tuvimos buenas conversaciones y rica cocina. Muy recomendado.

During our month with the family, we learned so much about so many things, like gardening, animal care, and off-grid energy. Konny, Nika and Stefan were the most welcoming of hosts, making the beginning of our travels so fun and smooth. With great communication and friendly advice, Konny helped us navigate the harder decisions that came with our travels. She convinced us to get a car (thank god) and educated us on all the beautiful sights nearby. Honestly, couldn't imagine a better start to our journey. In addition to all that wonderfulness, when we were having trouble finding a place to work over the holidays, Konny reached out to her contacts to ensure we weren't left stranded. Thank you, Konny and family, for being such kind hosts. We 100% recommend working for these lovely people.
