Our family has lived in St Lucia for 3 generations, gradually transforming a 70 acre plantation into a sustainable tourism site. The estate is a special place with gardens and trails, 2 secluded beaches, historic ruins, a 180 year old plantation house, yoga studio and 6 guest cottages. We are looking mainly for experienced and mature professionals to help our 78 year old mother and 6 local staff care for the vacation cottages and grounds. The ideal candidate(s) will have a background in property and building maintenance, DIY and construction. We will also consider volunteers with other relevant skills including hospitality experience, skills training and or online marketing. We can generally only host between April and November, since we have limited space in the winter months. St Lucia is a popular tourism destination, and we look forward to helping you get to know the island and all the various aspects of our business. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience in all aspects of managing and operating your own Eco-tourism business and property! We also host tours and community events and have plans to create a small museum and a skills training program for youth on the island. There are many possibilities to get involved with various projects :-)

Helpers generally stay one of our private guest cottages (which rent for US$ 140 - 200 per day during the tourist season). In the winter months (December - April) volunteers would have to stay in a room with shared bath in our family home.
Algo más...
St. Lucia is a popular holiday destination and is well serviced by international airlines. There is lots to do and see on the island including hiking, snorkeling, kite surfing, hot springs, waterfalls etc. Our property is very beautiful and there are two beaches just a 5 minute walk away. As a visitor, you are allowed to stay in the country for 6 weeks, after that you have to request an extension every 4 weeks, which we can arrange.

The work was a little bit of everything and not too much. The best part was to collect this very sweet Mangos in the morning and have them for breakfast.
