If you want a gook cook, someone with a passion he craves to share, and curiosity for the conversations you may have together, someone who loves animals, and organises his work in an efficient and autonomous way, have Armel as your next workawayer! He could not stay long but the time we shared was pleasant and my garden thanks him for all the preparation he made for winter. I can only whish him to go on on his trips, finding the tips he is looking for on his way so that his passion is fullfiled.

Luka und ihre Familie haben uns sehr nett empfangen und aufgenommen. Wir haben gekocht, aufgeräumt und Lukas Mutter, Mira, beim Umzug geholfen. Sie sind alle sehr nett und offen und wir haben uns wohl gefühlt. Leider mussten wir aufgrund von gesundheitlichen Problemen vorzeitig abreisen, Luka und Aurélien haben sehr viel Verständnis gezeigt und uns eine reibungslose Abreise ermöglicht. Es war dennoch eine sehr schöne Zeit, die uns noch lange in Erinnerung bleiben wird und wir wünschen der Familie alles Gute und allen zukünftigen Workawayern viel Spaß!

Thank you so much to Jern and Kai for the past two weeks. We learned so much from them, about plants, animals, permaculture, Malaysian culture, Mandarin, and more. The two weeks we spent with them were so much fun that it felt like the time flew by. Planting edamame beans, creating a garden and campfire area, harvesting bananas, coconuts, and other fruits - every project was new and meaningful to us. They also always asked how we were doing and expressed their gratitude at the end of work and during meals. Their involvement and the time we spent with them always warmed our hearts.We are truly delighted to have met Jane and Kai.

Honestly, a truly amazing time! Everyone involved was very respectful and helpful. Amazing people, if you work well with kids, enjoy local and culture and food, and are willing to learn how to teach. THIS is the host for you, thank you for having me!

My stay with Sandra was a truly beautiful experience in New Zealand. From the very first day, I felt warmly welcomed and at home. Sandra is a genuinely kind, friendly and inspiring person. The meals we shared were delicious and always prepared with care, creating lovely moments of connection. The gardening work was relaxed and enjoyable, and I learned many new things while taking the time to appreciate nature and the peaceful atmosphere. I leave with wonderful memories and sincerely recommend this experience !

Dear Jasmin & Thomas Living with you both in your home has become one of my most beautiful memories ! The atmosphere in your home was so warm & comfortable; and having Henry the cat around , made everything even better! You treat me not only a family, but also like a guest ! We spent one week in Ayutthaya and had a nice time. We especially enjoyed helping at the smoothie shop and, in general, being at the night market. Moreover, it was interesting to be able to eat like the locals. By the way grandma is an amazing cook and we were always well fed! However, don't expect too much organisation. Just go with the flow, then everything will work out. On the weekend Kitty even took all the workawayers on a trip with the whole family. Thank you very much for all the unforgettable memories. Having the chance to spend one week at the farm was truly amazing. Right from the beginning we had joyful interactions, good conversation and tasty family meals. The tasks were varied and not too difficult. So, we also had lots of time to play with Macon in the afternoon which we really enjoyed. Kik is a fantastic cook. She even showed us how to make green curry and we could try to make coconut milk by ourselves. The farm is in the middle of nature, so, we spend most time outdoors. Sleeping in the bamboo hut was a unique experience we wouldn't have wanted to miss. Thank you very much for the memories we could collect together. You are such a lovely family! All the best!

Teacher Tim is an amazing host, as she always made sure that we have a pleasent time in Ban Khwao. Although we only had four days with the children they warmly welcomed us and were really enthusiastic. We tought two lessons of English every morning and also had time to play with the kids. In the afternoon teacher Tim showed us around the area and made sure we had enough to eat. She even introduced us to some local people living in the town. Thank you for this lovely experience! We had the chance to learn a lot about the culture and had a lovely stay. All the best!

We had a wonderful experience with Layla. She was super kind, got along wonderfully with Kaylee, and always completed tasks independently. Thank you again for your great support!

My stay with Shirley and Ueli was truly one of the most wonderful experiences I’ve had in Australia. The property is absolutely beautiful, the dogs are all incredibly lovable, and the horses are simply stunning… a true little paradise. Shirley has been one of my most meaningful encounters here — she is kind, funny, and so caring, and she made me feel at home from the very first day. Ueli is just as kind and welcoming. I cherished every single moment spent with them and I truly hope to come back someday ❤️

What an absolute delightful young lady is Peone ! We had the pleasure of her company for 2 weeks and enjoyed every day of it ...Peone is a willing worker, great company, funny and caring . She was happy to tackle any given tasks and completed them to high standards . The dogs loved her...I did have to do a head count before she departed ..just to make sure that she hadn't smuggled any away with her. ! :) We enjoyed the cooking and life sharing experiences with her, and wish her all the very best on her travels around Australia and beyond ... Look forward to seeing her again .

Volunteering at the Hostel in El Paredon was a wonderful experience. It is a beautifully designed hostel run by two amazing humans: Felix and Elli. They truly care about El Paredon and the incredible community of people who live here and call this special place home. I will always cherish the memories I made while volunteering at the Hostel. It felt like home, they felt like family, and we had a hell of a great time enjoying beach life together in the special paradise that is El Paredon! Gracias por todo Felix y Elli de mi corazón ♡ ¡Felicidades por los 5 años! :)

Tim and Antonia are truly exceptional Workawayers, and we feel incredibly lucky to have hosted them. They stayed with us for five weeks and were, without a doubt, the most considerate, hardworking, and genuinely lovely people. From day one, they brought such care, respect, and warmth into our home. Every task they took on was done with incredible attention to detail — nothing was ever too much trouble, and they poured their heart into everything they did. They left both the house and outdoor spaces absolutely spotless and were the easiest people imaginable to live with and share a space with. On top of that, they were the best dog parents to our Groodle, Pipo, who already misses them heaps. Seeing the love and responsibility they showed him was truly special. They even showed Pipo how to surf the waves! Beyond the practical help, we will deeply miss our conversations and their wonderful “we’ll find a solution” attitude to everything. Their optimism and positive outlook on life is infectious and inspiring. During their stay, they also transformed their van into something amazing, and we wish them the happiest, most fulfilling journey as they continue their adventure around Australia. Tim and Antonia provided the best help and support we could have ever hoped for. We would welcome them back in a heartbeat and recommend them wholeheartedly to any future host. Thank you both - you’ll always have a place here with us. 💛

I stayed with Jawahar and Leena in their home in Saharanpur for two weeks and had a genuinely wonderful experience. Their home is beautiful, surrounded by so much greenery that it feels like a peaceful escape from the city. The garden is full of plants and flowers - it’s clear how much care goes into the space. Food is a real highlight of the stay. Ramu cooks every meal with so much love, and everything is absolutely delicious. Portions are more than generous so you’ll definitely leave having eaten very well (and probably a little heavier - in the best way!). At the school, I felt fully supported from day one. I arrived with no formal teaching experience, yet I was encouraged and trusted to run projects and get involved in meaningful ways. Anything feels possible there if you’re willing to put in the effort. Having prior teaching experience would no doubt be beneficial, but it’s absolutely not a requirement, enthusiasm and taking initiative matter far more. The school grounds themselves have plenty of green space, and the students are incredibly eager to interact with you. The children are curious, welcoming, and genuinely enthusiastic about learning, which makes every day rewarding and fun. Overall, this was a deeply enriching Workaway experience; welcoming hosts, amazing food, supportive staff, and brilliant students. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to contribute, learn, and be part of a warm and caring environment.

Anne is very friendly, polite and easy to get along with. She is very mature and skilled. She helped us gardening, window cleaning and digging holes.

I had a great time at Laura’s place on Waiheke Island. Laura is a lovely and fun person to be around, and we always had good communication. She has a lot of knowledge about art, gardening, and culture, so it was always interesting to talk with her, and I learned many things during my stay. She kindly helped me and gave me many useful tips about Waiheke Island. The house has a beautiful large garden, and both the beach and a bus stop are just around the corner. The work varied depending on the day, such as weeding, feeding the chickens, planting, and mowing the lawn. I worked 4 hours in the morning, 5 days a week, so I had plenty of time to fully enjoy Waiheke Island. If you want to enjoy Waiheke Island or a slow life in nature, I recommend staying with Laura. It was a truly beautiful experience staying at Scott’s property in the eco-village. During the first two weeks, Scott was in Europe, but he still gave me clear instructions via video calls and, most importantly, his trust — which I really appreciated. In that period, I felt deeply regenerated by working in the garden, going bushwalking, and swimming in the river. I then left for a short time to work on a farm, but the experience didn’t turn out as I expected. When I asked Scott if I could return, he welcomed me back without any hesitation. During the second part of my stay (another 2–3 weeks), with Scott and his partner Astrid present, the experience was different but equally positive. I found them both very generous and flexible hosts. We had many meaningful conversations, and I really enjoyed the balance between working independently (which I personally love) and working together. My room was comfortable and pleasantly cool, the food was excellent, and the overall treatment was great. I can only highly recommend this Workaway experience.

I spent 10 days at Karuna 's place with my partner. The place is quite difficult to reach, and unless one has her own car it's demanding and it takes time to move around (reach the nearest shops or go to the beach). Luckily, Karuna often offered to drive us to such places when she had time or when running her errands. She has been a really lovely host, and the fact that we often cooked and eat together helped us enjoy the experience more. The work was quite hard at times and repetitive, so I'd recommend this workaway to physically fit people and to those who don't mind spending time in an isolated place. On the other hand, there are many cats and dogs for company, too, apart from the humans :)

I had a wonderful Workaway experience at Karina & Volker’s house. They are a very warm and welcoming couple who hosted me perfectly, making my stay with them truly unforgettable. The activities were comfortable, easy to do, and carried out in a very pleasant atmosphere. My room and the area assigned for my use were very spacious and wonderfully cozy, which made me feel at home from the very beginning. Meals were delightful, homemade with great care from fresh produce, often picked straight from the garden and brought directly to the table. We always shared great moments and very engaging conversations around these beautifully prepared meals. I also had a very handy bike to explore the area on my own, and I was able to take part in this couple’s social activities as well. I would highly recommend their place to anyone looking for a truly enriching Workaway experience.
