It was such amazing experience for being with Jade Recorbet from France at our foundation. From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you for your extraordinary dedication to the less privileged children of Gomba District, Uganda. Your selfless service, teaching children with passion, playing joyfully, showering them with genuine love, cooking, gardening and powerfully supporting our fundraising campaign, has brought light and hope where it was needed most. You have touched countless young lives and strengthened our foundation in ways words can scarcely express. Please keep shining your beautiful light. May the good Lord bless and reward you abundantly for every smile you have given and every heart you have healed. Thanks very much and the door is open for you to come back.

I stayed for three weeks in this beautiful area with this wonderful family. It was incredibly inspiring to see how they live off-grid in the woods. I stayed in November, so it was quite cold, but there is a gas heater and the cabin is very cozy and comfortable. The food was soooo fresh, healthy, and delicious, which made the experience even better. I loved hiking to the top of the nearby mountain, and I also did a lot of creative things during my stay. It’s a great place to reconnect with myself and be part of a beautiful, warm family. One part of my stay was babysitting, which I really enjoyed. Emil is a true nature lover, and Ayla loves to draw and spend time outside collecting little treasures. Together we made small fairy houses. I’m a photographer, so I also took some family photos on the beach. I loved being able to bring my profession into this experience, and I would love to do this again with future Workaways. Another part of my stay was painting murals. I painted two murals in the children’s bedrooms. It was a very special and inspiring experience that I will always remember. One day I will come back 🤍

Alwin stayed with us for three weeks and was a great help. He is thoughtful and hardworking and always willing to offer help, even after he had already done his work, which was mostly chopping and stacking wood. He did a great job restacking our tower of Pisa woodpile and then filling the shed beautifully. He also helped with fixing a garden bed and various other tasks. He fit in seamlessly with our various social events and it was lovely to hear him sneak in some time playing the piano. He was very considerate but had a growth mindset and worked on things until he got them right - as with his piano piece and the strudel he made us twice and which was heavenly the second time. He is likely a very skilled carpenter, though we did not get to put those skills to use at the time. He would be an asset and a pleasant companion to anyone

I stayed with Holly for a few days and had such a lovely time. Thanks to the Christmas party she threw for her friends, I even got into the festive spirit! Her two dachshunds are absolutely adorable — especially when they’re caught doing exactly what they shouldn’t be doing. During my short stay, I mostly helped with house cleaning and some work on the outdoor deck. I felt comfortable the whole time and wished I could have stayed longer. Holly is a fantastic host — highly recommended! Thank you for everything, and hopefully see you again very soon! 🎄🐾

We had an incredible 4 weeks with Irakli, Sali and Lily, harvesting, cultivating and planting and getting ready for winter. We learned so much about organic farming, experienced rural village life, and ate the most incredible Georgian food. We will be back in the future guys 🙏❤️‍🩹

My stay at Rich, Jane, Georgia, Emily, and Finlay’s place was truly amazing! From the very first day, they made me feel completely at home. I had the chance to help them in their daily life and share their active routine filled with sports, outdoor activities, board games, and lots of laughter. I also discovered the world of racehorses and explored a beautiful region. Every day was different and meaningful. I stayed with them for one month and was truly sad to leave. I couldn’t have asked for a better first Workaway experience and I hope our paths cross again soon :) xx

Avery was a confident volunteer who brought a lot of positive energy with her. She was comfortable handling responsibilities, especially when it came to interacting with animals. She was dependable, followed rules, and blended in well with the team and other guests. She contributed meaningfully during her time here, and is welcome back here anytime. :)

I looked after the farm for Ralph and Marion for almost five months. From the very first time we met, I perceived them both as very warm and kind people. The time there did me a lot of good, lots of peace and nature. I became especially fond of the cats, Nepomuk and Freddy. The two of them were always available as points of contact whenever the time difference allowed. Their son Bruno was also always reachable and, by prior arrangement, sometimes looked after things for a weekend. All in all, I really enjoyed my stay. We will definitely stay in touch. Deep in the hills lies this beautiful project. We were five workawayers, and it was a great team where everyone had their own unique strengths. Lots of laughter, despite the rain. Worked indoors when it rained and outdoors when possible. Delicious food thanks to the culinary skills of some of the team members. Janina responded to your message very quickly, which is fantastic. Lorien, who leads the team wonderfully, works hard in and around the house. It was a wonderful week surrounded by wonderful people. I hope to return to this beautiful location again in the spring.

I spent one week with Miguel in November, and it was an unforgettable experience. The farm is located high in the mountains, far from the noise of any city. The views are absolutely majestic! Miguel is an incredibly kind and funny host. Even though my Spanish is limited, he was very patient with me and I managed to learn a lot during my stay. We also spent a couple of nights in Santo Tomé, which was a lovely addition to the trip. The atmosphere is very relaxed. If you go in winter, definitely bring warm clothes, but don't worry—inside there is a fireplace that will keep you cozy. While there are amazing trails for hiking, I spent a lot of my time enjoying the peace, talking and reading by the fire.The house cat is the sweetest companion you could ask for! If you want to experience authentic mountain life and slow down for a while, I highly recommend visiting Miguel!

Daniel was a consistently reliable volunteer. He did every task with genuine interest, whether it was work in the hospital, sanctuary, or farming. No matter where he was placed, he adapted quickly and gave his best. He was easy to manage, followed rules well, and maintained good behaviour with staff, fellow volunteers, and animals alike. Working with him was smooth and stress-free. We would gladly welcome him back again. :)

We spent two weeks with Amy. The large house on the beach is beautiful. We had our own room with a sea view and a private bathroom. The large property with its private beach offers many possibilities. There are many different tasks to do in the garden and around the house, and we could choose what we wanted to do. We had a lot of freedom in organizing our jobs, which was wonderful. We especially loved the daily walks with the lovely dogs. Amy is very friendly and always available, even though she also works online. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.

We spent three wonderful weeks with Gunn Hege in Norway and felt very welcome from the very beginning. We were able to stay in her house, sleeping in her eldest son’s room, which made us feel comfortable and at home. Gunn Hege is a very warm-hearted and helpful host. She welcomed us kindly, was always supportive, and took time for us whenever we had questions or needed help. The work instructions were clear and well explained, so we always knew what was expected of us. The whole family is very kind, and communication was open and pleasant throughout our stay. We especially appreciated having enough free time to explore the beautiful surroundings. As we were also working professionally alongside the Workaway tasks, Gunn Hege was very flexible and understanding, which we truly valued. Overall, it was a truly positive and memorable experience. We felt very comfortable and can wholeheartedly recommend this Workaway.

I stayed 2 weeks at Christine. This was a very good 1st workaway for me, Christine is very welcoming and kind. I have a big arachnophobia, and I had a hard time dealing with it in the room I was sleeping in, but when I talked about it with Christine she was really understanding and help me find solutions. The work was pleasing, I did some gardening and cleaning, and a lot of cooking. The workload is very reasonable, and you can organise it however you like. Like the other workawayers said, it is and excellent place if you are autonomous and don’t mind being alone for a lot of tasks and some meals. It was very good for me, I did not feel lonely at all. The garden and the house/farm are very big, and the house is divided into 2 sections : one part for Christine and his son, and one part for the workawayer(s) (a kitchen and a bathroom). We spent some very good evenings together, and we went out several times (we went to the pool, to the town, to some artistic exhibitions and town markets…). You don’t get bored ! Thank you so much Christine for welcoming me !

We were lucky to welcome Marius into our home for about two months. He is an exceptional young man—very kind, polite, and always motivated to help. He assisted us with household and garden maintenance, and he was also wonderful with our four boys. Marius truly enjoys being around children and takes great pleasure in playing with them, inventing games, and helping them in their daily lives. He is someone you can fully trust and rely on. During his stay with us, he quickly learned French, showing real curiosity and strong motivation to communicate in our language. He enjoys spending time with the family, is very sociable, and at the same time knows how to adapt and respect everyone’s privacy. Marius also speaks excellent English, as he has spent time in Canada. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for everything you have done for us and our family. We can only highly recommend Marius! It was a pleasure to host Ansh and have his precious help for almost 2 weeks. Communication was friendly and easy since the first contact, he was always helpful and available for anything that would be needed. He is a responsible and thrustful person, good working either alone or in team, and we were also lucky to try some of his delicious food (traditional Indian cuisine). I wish him very happy travels and success .
