We are a couple (we have 5 kids but they are currently studying at university and/or raising their families) on 6 acres of land, 4 of which are forest. We are musicians. Our place is beautiful and has 12 fruit trees, chickens, a creek and a pond and is in the wonderful community of Roberts Creek on the ocean, a 40 minute ferry ride from Vancouver. We are looking for someone with gardening experience and willing to garden and do various physical tasks on our large, beautiful property. Carpentry and/or cooking skills an asset as well. We have a beautiful private room with balcony available in our house. We welcome individuals or couples.
Robert’s Creek is absolutely beautiful, charming and vibrant, with a lot of artists and musicians and right on the ocean.
I really enjoy speaking French (I am francophone) and Spanish (fluent) as my husband is a unilingual anglophone.
Right now we need help with weeding, harvesting and watering and would love to host someone who likes to cook. We can host someone from Aug 1st to 14th.
We grow most of our own food and have incredible water from a well.

Roberts Creek is a wonderful community nestled between the ocean and the mountains, with many gardening and outdoor enthusiasts, as well as artists and musicians. Our family is musically active in the community. I speak French, English, Spanish and German and am an avid gardener. Our goal for our place is to be a haven for plants and animals, as well as a cultural hub, with occasional garden concerts.

Maja and Charlottes were wonderful volunteers. They worked hard and were very friendly easygoing. They harvested and weeded and watered the garden and made some delicious food. Charlotte was fun and hard-working. She baked bread and made delicious lasagna and lemon pie. She worked outside, even in the rain, but when it was raining hard, she found things to do inside. She was helpful and we had interesting conversations and played some fun games. We would highly recommend her to anyone.

Dennis was such a great workawayer and person. He helped us tremendously. He figured out and dug drainage around our cabin, chopped and stacked wood, evened out the terrain of our property, did fencing and various other tasks. He is also fun and easy-going. Would highly recommend.

They made me feel at home pretty quickly. I really enjoyed the board games, the amazing food, and also Misty the cat, she cannot be forgotten.
The hikes we made were simply lovely. The nature here is astonishing, I have never seen anything like it. A true paradise!

Tom was a great help and very easygoing. He did an excellent job shingling our outhouse and doing general property maintenance, including clearing brush, digging a trench and mulching our garden beds. He worked independently but at the same time keeping in mind requests/instructions. He sometimes played the piano in the evenings which was lovely.
