Marko was very welcoming, generous & hospitable. His home is unique & lovely. And his beautiful dog Vikki is very friendly & loves her walks. We helped with light house chores & dog walks. We enjoyed our stay with Marko & would recommend. He taught us a bit about the culture & recommended things to do in the area. Thank you for the enjoyable stay!

Dear Annick, thank you for your review! For me, it was my first experience with Workaway and honestly I didn’t know what to expect. I must say I couldn’t have chosen better. Annick is an extremely dynamic and youthful lady, even though she broke her arm while I was there, she never lost her energy or her desire to stay active. At Annick’s house I felt welcomed as if I were in my own home. I had a beautiful room with a private bathroom. We organized dinners with her friends and neighbors, and the atmosphere was truly pleasant. Annick really loves nature, animals, and everything organic, her garden is like a botanical garden,nothing is missing. I had the opportunity to travel around the French Riviera and visit several wonderful little towns, and even though it was November, there was always sunshine. For me, it felt like a wonderful vacation at a relative’s home! Thank you for everything, Annick.

Franzi war insgesamt sechs Wochen bei uns. In diesem Zeitraum hat sie viele Aufgaben übernommen. Sie hat unsere gesamten Tiere eigenständig betreut ( auch zwei Wochen ohne mich da ich verreist war) In diesem Zeitraum hat sie auch unseren Ekzemer Esel gepflegt was sehr aufwendig ist. Alles wurde zu 100,% gemacht. Auf Franzi kann man sich verlassen. Sie ist ehrlich,nett und arbeitet sehr eigenständig. Weitere Aufgaben waren im Haushalt und bei der Olivenernte helfen. Sie ist eine Bereicherung für jeden Host. Wir haben sie sehr ins Herz geschlossen!

We enjoyed Mary’s presence at our home. We were able to advance a lot on gardening projects with her help Her dog got along well with our dog ! Mary was also helping a lot with daily tasks, thanks a lot Mary and looking forward to meeting again for a dog walk in the future :)

Kenzie was with us for 10 days. She is like a ray of sunshine on a cloudy day. Super sweet, friendly and full of life. Kenzie was super flexible with our varied days and schedule, or lack of, on the farm. She was willing to do whatever chore we asked and is a hardworker. Very respectful of house rules. Kenzie is forever family and we look forward to seeing her when she does her SI road trip.

Siamo stati nella Finca di Marco, poco fuori da Flix, per tre settimane. La nostra permanenza è stata piacevole a arricchente; la Finca è stupenda, pullula di vita e si nota in ogni minimo dettaglio la cura e l'interesse di Marco per il posto e per gli animali che ci ospitano. Marco è una persona molto accogliente e genuina, ogni momento passato insieme è stato piacevole e divertente. Inoltre, come già si può notare dagli altri feedback, Marco è un cuoco formidabile; in poche parole, non ci ha fatto minimamente sentire la mancanza di casa. Nel corso di queste 3 settimane, ci siamo concentrati sulla raccolta delle olive, è stato infatti molto rilassante lavorare all'aperto. In sintesi, è un'esperienza che consigliamo a chiunque abbia voglia di lavorare all'aperto e piacere a passare del tempo con una persona così arricchente. Grazie mille ancora! Raùl e Dino

Nous avons passé un mois chez Kellie. Nous étions logés dans le mobil-home situé sur son terrain, il n'est pas de première jeunesse mais il a fait l'affaire et nous avons apprécié avoir notre intimité. Nous avons fait du désherbage, de la peinture, de l'étalage de gravier et du ramassage de pierres. Le travail demandé est varié et très accessible, nous étions autonome dans l'organisation de notre temps de travail. L'environnement et les animaux sont très calmes et agréables et toute la famille est sympathique. Nous avons apprécié cette première expérience Workaway !

i stayed with GG for about 4 weeks and had a lovely time! GG was my first workaway host and I’m so thankful that she takes in last minute workers, otherwise I wouldn’t have experienced this special place. I stayed in a cozy caravan, very charming and GG made sure it was comfy for me 💛 it had the perfect view. The shower is outdoor near the sheep, with some privacy and overall a really nice experience! I mostly got my own groceries and cooked in the caravan or GG would give free frozen meals / some food she made now and then which were yummy :) I was also free to eat the mandarin oranges and grapefruit in her garden, and got eggs from the chickens. since i didn’t have a car, GG would invite me (either with herself or with her family) to go grocery shopping, see places around the area, to the op shops with her daughter and any family outings! I’m grateful for her consideration and kindness to include me, let me see the area without my own transport, while still giving me ample personal time and space 🥰 And when we didn’t go out together, it was wonderful and peaceful being able to rest in the caravan, go for a walk around the fields at the property, spend time with Candy the pony, Django the dog, Fluffy the cat and say hi to the sheep. Work was 4 hours for 5 days a week but GG would let me get off earlier on most days or have a quick lunch break in between hours then knock off early! 🙏🏻 I did some gardening at the start, then mostly weeding with other tasks — organising (the sheds, cupboards), loading and unloading cut wood and scooping horse manure for the garden. Mikkel's visit was definitely our hightlight of the weekend. 3 days on the weekend Mikkel cooked us "Frikadeller og kold kartoffelsalat", the Dennish meatballs and mashed potato, pruned our tree and cleaned the balcony which he didn't have to, shared us politics and cultures of Denmark, and brought us Dennish candies and a lot of joys. Mikkel always could brought up topics to chat about. I paticularily enjoyed talking about sport, beers, history, and so many else with him. The day trip around was refreshing as well. Mikkel is very easy to be with, very puncture, clean, and respectful. I would say to all future hosts that hosting him worth every minute.

Unsere Zeit mit Blanca war für uns etwas ganz Besonderes und sie wird uns noch lange in Erinnerung bleiben. Die Tage vergingen wie im Flug. Von der ersten Sekunde an war sie ganz da – präsent, aufmerksam und mit einer natürlichen Selbstverständlichkeit, die sofort Nähe und Vertrauen schuf. Es fühlte sich so an, als wäre sie ein Teil unserer Familie gewesen. Blanca ist eine ausserordentlich achtsame, hilfsbereite und engagierte Workawayerin. Sie sah, wo Unterstützung gebraucht wurde und packte eigenständig und zuverlässig an. Ob beim Kochen, beim Sauberhalten von Haus und Alltag oder bei grösseren Projekten – alles erledigte sie mit Sorgfalt und Aufmerksamkeit. Die gemeinsamen Mahlzeiten und die Gespräche wurden zu wertvollen Momenten des Lachens und der Verbundenheit. Es war sehr interessant die verschiedenen Traditionen ihres Landes zu erfahren. Es macht Lust auch Blanca zu besuchen. Ganz besonders berührt hat uns ihr Umgang mit unseren Kindern. Mit ihrer pädagogischen, einfühlsamen und kreativen Art gewann sie ihr Vertrauen sofort. Basteln, Spielen, gemeinsames Lachen – vor allem UNO – gehörten genauso dazu wie ruhige, achtsame Begleitung. Unsere Kinder fühlten sich gesehen und ernst genommen, schlossen Blanca tief ins Herz und vermissen sie nun sehr. Blanca war für uns nicht einfach eine Hilfe, sondern eine echte Entlastung und eine grosse Bereicherung für unseren Familienalltag. Die gemeinsame Zeit war geprägt von gegenseitigem Respekt, Offenheit und einem Gefühl von Zusammengehörigkeit– genau so, wie man es sich wünscht, wenn man seinen Alltag teilt. Liebe Blanca, wir sind von Herzen dankbar für alles, was du eingebracht hast, und dafür, dass wir dich kennenlernen durften. Du hast Spuren hinterlassen – es ist ein seltsames Gefühl, dich nicht hier zu haben - (Ich habe schon oft einen Teller für dich gedeckt und dann gemerkt, dass du ja nicht mehr hier bist). Wir hoffen sehr, dass sich unsere Wege eines Tages wieder kreuzen. ❤️

Our stay with Brenda and Roger was short but wonderful. We felt right at home and had a great time with them and Shuntaro, eating dinner and playing Bananagram. We also got to free the Garden of Wandering Willie (a weed), which was quite enjoyable in the shade of the plum trees and hedge. Thank you for your kindness and for creating such a cosy atmosphere. We hope to see you again soon!

Andreas spent five weeks with us, choosing a less favorable time of year (November/December) and arriving during a more challenging period for us, with very little free time due to our newborn and a few other demands. Despite this, Andreas consistently demonstrated great humor and a willingness to help wherever needed, which we truly appreciated. We wish him all the best on his personal journey!

Once again we got another auntie, firiend an d sister! Fee is a sweetheart with good manners and good principles. Very nice to be around, we felt that she was part of the family and its hard to say goodbye. She was able to blend into the beautiful chaos that is our family, stood up for the tasks and was able to change plans last minute when it had to happen! We loved to have her round. she found new ways to communicate with the kids and to follow the routines and her presence was peaceful and pleasant. Fee was also very respectful of the house rules and values and was able to hold her position in case of disagreements in between kids or arguments. I believe she learnt about life with us and she takes the teachings further in her life We hope to see her again and to be in touch.

We had a great time at Debbie and Kim's farm. It was a pleasure to meet them and their animals. We had very comfortable and beautiful accommodation in the house and were given various tasks. For example, we weeded the paddocks (it was fun learning to drive the quad bike), cleaned the window frames and outside of the house, picked up horse manure from the paddock, and did other small tasks. Otherwise, we sat in for the house and the animals for ten days and had a lot of fun walking the dogs, feeding the horses, picking up eggs and vegetables, and so on. :) Thank you very much for letting us get to know you and your place!

Julie stayed with us during the olive harvest season for a couple of weeks and we had such a good time Lots of production, wood chopping, cooked together, went for mushroom hunting, relaxing , growing baby chickens, thats some of the things we accomplished together She is a calm, organised, clean, discreet,brave and funny person Full of passion for life and nature I really recommend her for the next host!!! A beautiful location with a truly incredible team of local staff. A massive thank you to Ramita, who is the heart of this place, and to Sushma, Lakshi, Maili, Subash, Umesh, and Deepak. Ramita is a superstar—she truly became family and supported us above and beyond (even accompanying us to the hospital during a health scare). We also appreciated the invitation to join family roasts and connect with interesting guests. Regarding the work, we were able to utilise our professional backgrounds extensively. Lou executed a complete brand overhaul: creating a new logo, colour schemes, tone of voice, professional photography, and redesigning the guest welcome packs from scratch - in addition to baking British treats for the staff and guests. Nick focused on gardening, clearing storage, and general DIY maintenance. Future volunteers should note that this is a busy working environment. Communication regarding tasks was often quite direct and task-focused (usually via messaging) rather than through a structured schedule. We found the hours often exceeded the stated 5 hours/day (closer to 6–8), and boundaries between 'time off' and 'work' were sometimes blurred. For example, over our two weeks we had three designated days off, but on two of those days we were still asked to complete work. On another occasion, we had to cancel personal evening plans last-minute due to a request to help the kitchen with a large number of guests. Additionally, the accommodation we stayed in was still under construction (no outside lock/unfinished bathroom), so privacy felt limited at times. Ultimately, we truly got a lot out of this experience. If you are proactive, don't mind long days, and want to support an amazing local staff amidst stunning views, you will have a rewarding stay.

I had a wonderful few weeks housesitting and dogsitting for Jemima and James! There were beautiful walking trails to explore just outside the house and coastal ones to visit a short car ride away. I felt very welcomed by everyone in the neighborhood, especially other family members and their workawayers who lived near the abbey. I am already looking back on this experience with nostalgia and I miss the two dogs, Bella and Lulu! Thank you for all your help with coordinating my transport and groceries, Jemima! It was great to meet both you and James towards the end of my stay. Happy holidays!

It was my first volunteering and I couldn't ask for a better experience. Ashok and his family are very welcoming and helpful. It's a great place to learn a lot both about coffee production and organic farming in general as well as about the Nepali culture through conversations with his family, especially the kids, who are curious about the volunteers as well. In total I spent 5 weeks in two separate occasions, and I enjoyed it a lot. Ashok's past professions as a trekking guide and then a teacher means he has a lot to give to share with everyone who come s there. And after 12 years of hosting more than 1000 volunteers, you can be sure you're in good hands.
