Kozu in few words is a lovely and brilliant being. She fosters human connection and always tries to make staff easier aiming a better result. So helpful, smart, polite, creative, patient, always ready to help, with a very organized mind and so skilled in every task she was involved. She painted with shellac the main door, prepared a new permacolture bed in the garden, cooked marvelous ayurvedic-japanese food, helped us brainstorming about our web presence and much more. She is an expert in farinata di ceci and healthy cake making! :) We had so many interesting conversation and we got fascinated from her vast knowledge and culture. We admire her so much and hope to see her again, hopefully here, in Japan or Cuba!

Hosting Edoardo was an absolute pleasure. He is friendly, helpful, compassionate, and brings a wonderful sense of humor that makes the whole house feel lighter. He’s an excellent team player, knowing just when to take the lead and when to collaborate, and he was consistently welcoming and supportive to the other volunteers. During his stay he contributed to a wide range of projects: weeding, hedge and tree trimming, lawn maintenance, and general garden refurbishment. He harvested potatoes, cleared and covered all outdoor vegetable beds for the winter season, and repotted and pruned indoor plants ready for overwintering. Indoors, he painted walls, did small household repairs, and even revived pieces of furniture with light refinishing work. One moment that stood out: during a heavy rainstorm, Edoardo and his co-volunteer noticed a water-flow problem and helped redirect the rock river/drainage system calmly, competently, and effectivly. Trained as a plumber and gifted as a photographer, he approaches all tasks with the problem-solving mindset of someone who understands practical solutions. Edoardo is versatile, thoughtful, creative, and a genuinely lovely presence in a household. I would welcome him back anytime and highly recommend him to future hosts.

Although I was only for short time I really enjoyed. Marjana is warm flexible and understanding person. I was warmly welcomed and stayed in a nice separate room with bathroom. We ate the delicious meals together and talked about lot of things(current economic challenges, nutrition, possible local solutions and so on). She gave me some interesting advices about improving my German and some technics for faster and easy learning languages. I did some small maintenance and we wrap things up earlier so I can enjoy the sunny weather exploring lake Bled( for what I am grateful). Marjana told me that sometimes during winter the lake gets frozen so you can walk on it which it would be interesting experience. Bled is a small but beautiful place especially if you like nature. There is a small island in the middle of the lake an you can get there by renting a small boat or as a guided tour. On a cliff there is a castle looking down on the lake that you can visit by 15 min walk and make sure you are there before 18 o`clock the view is great. There where a lot of tourists you could hear German a lot and a lot of folklore music which usually is not the case, but later Marjana told me that it was some kind of manifestation called Alpine(Alps) night so lot of dancing singing and drinking. There are a lot of trails and during the weekend you can visit the National park Triglav 30 min by car and Bled is not the only lake in the area plus there are waterfalls and a lot of beautiful nature. So if you like nature I really recommend it. All the best and thank you for the beautiful experience Marjana.

Thank you so much Ute for welcoming me to Japan! I had a very enjoyable stay here at the gallery & cafe in the quiet countryside of Japan. Ute has many stories so it was great to chat in the evenings, and she could explain many of the questions we had about Japanese culture and language. I had some very delicious Japanese food and drink while I was here, and taste-tested lots of cakes for the cafe! It's a beautiful house, and there is a friendly dog named Tina chan who I liked to take on a walk. There are lots of things to do to help with the upkeep of this beautiful old house and garden, so I was never short of projects, and when possible Ute was happy for us to take on projects that we might particularly like to do. Thanks again Ute.

We loved our stay with Teresa so much! I helped to set up the Christmas Market in Lathus and also did some gardening. It’s a wonderful community and I very much enjoyed getting to know some of Teresa’s friends. My dog and I walked around the beautiful countryside, did some stargazing when the weather was good, and were super comfortable in Teresa’s lovely home. We will miss her and will definitely be back! Thank you, Teresa!

Laura è stata con noi due mesi, Devo dire che i primi periodi era diffidente schiva e stava sempre chiusa in camera sua, deve migliorare sulla flessibilità e portare a termine i compiti, e una ragazza onesta, conoscendoci meglio e chiarendoci abbiamo raggiunto un certo equilibrio. Non gli interessa l'arte nonostante io lavoro in un luogo d'arte non e stata minimamente interessata, parma culturalmente e visitata da tanti turisti di tutto il mondo, abbiamo tanti siti da visitare.

If you love dogs and aren't scared of their poo this is the place for you! I had a wonderful time here, the dogs are amazing and Lily works very hard and loves them very much. If you stay here you can expect Liljiana to bring you local food occasionally (even though food isn't supposed to be provided), and tell you which places to go to visit. You have the beach 10mn away and the mountains right nearby (on foot). The work is easy: cleaning the dog poop, feeding them, cleaning their houses... Sometimes there are heavy things to carry but not often. Thank you to Kate and Liljiana for making it possible for me to come, thank you Lily, Victorio, Loretta and Socrate for all your work, and special thanks to the dogs for making it all worth it (Monster, both Bobbys, both Bellas, Louani, Stela, Akila, Rexi, Luna, Yuli, and all the others whose names I don't remember). I'll come back !

Sofie was a delight to have in our community. We’ve had several Workaways over the last 3 years and she is up there with the best. She was interested in our community, has a good sense of humour and is intelligent. Sofie was with us for just over one month and during that time cared for our two dogs with care and attention to their individual character. She connected with the land and used her experience to prepare planted areas for winter. Our gardener was impressed by her work and how well she cleaned up every day ( he’s rarely impressed by anyone!) We found her capable , responsible and responsive to suggestions. She worked on her own much of the day and was good company when we come together for dinner, willingly helping set the table and wash up afterwards. Sofie follows a particular diet which initially I was concerned might be challenging, but it wasn’t an issue. She prepared her own food and timed it so that she could eat with the community. We had caterers in for three nights due to an event and Sofie adjusted her meal plan and created artistic plates so that her food blended in perfectly with the catered dishes. Sofie is very aware and sensitive to what goes on around her. She has lots of common sense and skills.

ELISE AND ROSE WHERE SUPER EASY TO WORK WITH, VERY HELPFUL LADIES. WE DIDN'T EVEN NOTICE WHEN THEY WHERE IN THE HOUSE AND LEFT EVERYTHING SUPER CLEAN UPON DEPARTING. I RECOMMEND THESE WORKAWAYERS

After five weeks with us, Kiana was so harmoniously fitting in the community, that we felt that we kind of forgot that she was just meant to stay short-term :) Kiana is flexible, enthusiastic and communicative. She would carry out any service or activity at her best capacity and very skillfully. She integrated very well with everyone and we loved that she is so open and humble, while at the same time she has already many realizations and experiences in life that she shares openly with much wisdom. We wish nothing but the best for Kiana and looking forward to having the possibility soon again to be enriched by her visit :)

Emily and Phelim were great guests. We first proposed a 4 weeks stay with us but soon we realized how much they contributed to our life so they stayed nearly 5 months in the end. Emily and Phelim soon became friends and we loved to have them around. They did a great job working in the garden and building a wooden house in the garden. They were always motivated to work, and planned and organized their work themselves.

Great couple! Super sociable, got along with all volunteers. Respectful of the house rules. Very reliable.They did lots of gardening and some general maintenance. I recommend them. Safe travels .

Lu was a great last moment addition to our team. We came into contact in summer when we where looking for a yoga instructor last minute when our instructor had an injury (outside of work with us). Lu has great communication skills and is dynamic and able. Within a short time of our first contact she was in Mykonos joining our Nature Guide team and helping set up our first season of sup yoga . Despite it being a slow start due to it being the first year of Sup Yoga she was a great asset also joining on our Nature tours with sea kayaking and snorkeling. She had a great energy also with the rest of the team and brought a lovely bubbly energy to our kayak base.

We 100% enjoyed the time Armin stayed at our place! He has a hands on mentality, is not afraid to pick up new tasks and is reliable. Communication is very easy and smooth. Apart from that, we had interesting conversations about our paths in life and shared our views. All in all, Armin is absolutely recommended!

We stayed with Pk, Clare, Eloise, Katie and Loki for two months. This was our first workaway experience together ( Alice had used this app before) and we couldn't have asked for better. Thy are very flexible, our tasks were mainly taking care of Loki (we fell in love with him, so it was a pleasure, we walked him, gave him food and stayed with him) cleaning, making dinner trice a week, doing laundry and folding it, sometimes doing grocery shopping or running other small errands (but very flexible and easy), then we painted the girls’s bedroom and the laundry room, we cleaned their car and helped a little in the garden. We had our free time, so we could visit Oslo and the nearby little towns, we could also plan a short tour in the north of Norway (Bergen and Tromso). They also allowed us to us their car. We reccomend this family to people who love animals and are used to staying with children (they did not need us to take care of the kids, but of course they are still very young, so they have their habits, wake up early in the morning and play a lot). Giada could improve her English and we had a lot of cultural exchange. They made feel us like friends and family, more than guests. Giada and Alice ❤️

Mica was a great addition to our team!! Her calm energy and great people skills really added to our Nature Tours. Mica is reliable , consistent and always with a smile !! Going through chores or Nature Tours seamlessly with competence and intent. We wish Mica a great time in Argentina with her studies and are happy to have her back working with us any time.

Bruno was a joy to have with us on our team. He was reliable , able , punctual and consistent. Both me and my brother Alex really enjoyed having Bruno work with us and now feel like we have a friend that we would welcome any time he would join us again. Bruno's studies in environmental biology made him and excellent guide to lead our snorkeling tours with his passion for the marine environment really shining in his explanations . During the two months he was with us he showed great skills in kayaking , tour leading and organising. We also enjoyed his calm energy , his joy for our pack of cats we have around the house and his easy going day to day program.

John was a very last minute workaway and such a blessing! He spent about a week with us. He was very willing to try his hand at whatever we asked, which included feeding lambs and calves, weedeating/line trimming, thistle grubbing, cleaned the dog kennels, helped take down electric fencing, washed vehicles and Im sure more things. John is polite, respectful, friendly and mature for his age. I would have no hesitation recommending him to other hosts.

Well… How can I start? I have many words and phrases to be grateful to the family. It is my first time on this app, and I couldn’t have asked for a better place to start. The family was always so kind, warm and close to me. They allowed me to cook; it is one of the ways I love to express myself, and they were really happy about it (that’s what they said haha). I also shared a lot with the kids; I’ve learned sooo many things: new words, music, games, and the way they see life in love. What can I say about Flore and Lasse? Well, I spent so many nice and interesting conversations with them, deep ones. I really enjoyed having talks with them and seeing different ways to view life. I think it was my first time in life that I learned to eat veggies. For some reason, I really liked it; it was so different but healthy and awesome at the same time. Flore baked some kuchen or oven food that was really delicious, and Lasse really knows how to make the best banana weizen on earth haha. It was a really special time for me with the Familie. It will be something I’ll never forget. I also learned new expressions of love from them, and ways of taking care of someone. As my first host and a really special one, they will always have a place in my heart. I thank God and Life for giving me the opportunity to share with such a beautiful family like them, so real in all ways and so kind. Thank you so much, LaFloRoMarNo. The only thing I could complain about is that I think every Workaway experience will be like yours now. You have set a very high bar standard haha!
