Saskia and Daniel stayed with us for two weeks. They are an amazing people and a beautiful couple. They are able to think outside the box, see what needs to be done, work independently and don't shy away from difficult tasks. Their military background certainly shines through in everything they do. They are honest, fun and absolutely great to have around! We were sad to see them go and miss them already. We wish them all the best and know they will excel in everything they do.

Laxmi and Krishna have received my two kids and I Iike family. The connection was immediate and the kids left having now two nepalis grand-parents :) This place is most of all about sharing. y It's an real immersion in nepali life. Laxmi and Krishna really love receiving volunteers (they have done so for the past 10 years!) and share with them. Together, you will talk over tea, prepare chapati, work in the field, play Uno Flip, laugh, visit nearby stream and temple. Laxmi and Krishna are full of kindness and will for sure make you feel at home! The place is also about simplicity. Bedroom, shower, toilet, food are all nice and simple. Real rural life and still access to the market for anything you would want. My kids' highlights were cooking chapatipati and special sugar mix tea ;) , working and picking up delicious fruits and vegetables with Krishna, playing cards with Laxmi and Shiva, playing with Tomy the dog and going to the stream! The place is so beautiful, green and peaceful! We really have enjoyed our time here. Thank you Laxmi and Krishna <3

I had an unforgettable and truly enjoyable two weeks with Janice, Darry, Sydney and Amber. I was a little nervous at the beginning as a first-time Workaway volunteer, but Janice was incredibly patient and took the time to explain everything to me. She always spoke with me openly and as an equal, and shared a lot about the local history, how farming developed in Nokomis, and many other interesting stories. The whole family welcomed me with kindness and made me feel at home. They were always willing to answer my questions, even when I felt some of them were probably a bit silly. They never made me feel embarrassed and always gave thoughtful answers. The two weeks were busy, but in the best possible way. I enjoyed every day because it felt meaningful and rewarding. Everything felt so comfortable and natural, and I truly felt included. Words can't fully express how grateful, touched, and thankful I am for this experience. I will always look back on these two weeks with fond memories. I wish Janice, Darry, and their family all the very best, good health, happiness, and success in everything they do. ❤️

My husband and I stayed with Gabi and her kids for two weeks. It was a last minute arrangement and it was a win-win for all of us. Gabi is a thoughtful, caring, funny, outgoing person with a huge heart. We helped in the garden, with landscaping, cleaning the pool, motorcycle repair, toilet repair, general cleaning, and assisting Gabi with her project teaching kids about keeping the environment clean from trash. Gabi is non-stop busy, in a good way, and always invited us to join in on her adventures. This was great because we got to meet many locals and visit many places with her. We shared wonderful homemade meals (Gabi is a great cook!) at home and also ate out together a few times. Lily and Max, her kids, are kind and respectful and fun. Her three cats are adorable as well. There are also two bicycles available to use which was great! The accommodation couldn’t have been better. A private room with fan and A/C, shower, toilet and fully equipped outdoor kitchen. Gabi is very easy going and allows you to join in with all activities or to take it easy and relax on your own as needed. The work was varied, fun, and satisfying. We knew before meeting her that we would have a great time together and we certainly did. If you have the opportunity to volunteer for Gabi you won’t be disappointed!

Tanja came to help last minute -I was really lucky 😊- and we managed more in this rainy week than I would ever thought possible! What a great help she is! She helped me with a lot of tough tasks- we got shit loads done 😄: we mucked out around the little sheep huts- that was a particulary shitty task 😂 and then used the old „smelly hay“ to mulch the potato bed. She came just at the right time…it had rained a lot and I was getting desperate, as the „old hay“ around the entrance to the sheep huts turned into mud …not good at all for their hooves. Thank you for helping Herzi! 🐏😊 Her strength and energy gave me the motivation to see it through quickly and we also had a good laugh whilst we were working- what more could you ask for? Tanja also removed a forest-to-be of tree seedlings from my flower beds around the house, the old blossoms from my rhododendrons and a lot of big weeds. She helped me tidy up the new sheep shelter after shearing and she spread out a large pile of hay along all the paths in the new rose garden. Tanja is a friendly, reliable, generous, helpful and strong woman. I am very grateful and have been happy about the company. She has been a pleasant guest, and treated our home with great respect. We had good conversations, communication was generally very good. Tanja is also great with kids, and you can tell she has a lot of experience looking after animals. You are very welcome to come back another time. Tusind tak❣️

We enjoyed our experience with Shayne as he is very pleasant agreeable hard-working, trustworthy, and very communicative… We recommend Shayne as a great guy to have as a team member!

I spent some wonderful days in Barum with the most amazing people, Lisa and Tore, and their two lovely children. As it was my first time in Germany, and my first destination after four days of traveling, they made me feel incredibly welcome and like part of the family from the very beginning. I am truly grateful for their kindness, generosity, and hospitality. Thank you for making my first experience in Germany so special. ❤️

We really enjoyed hosting Calvin. This was his first Workaway experience, and he was a very pleasant and respectful guest in our home, and a diligent worker in the yard. Calvin was with us for 5 days, and during that time he split a great load of firewood, even though it was his first real time doing this task. Slow and steady wins the race! Not many people last the full duration, especially if they haven’t done it much before, cause it’s not an easy job. Plus, he left the yard neat and tidy. It was fun talking with him over meals and hanging out together, watching movies. We’re both grateful that he chose us in the Blue Mountains, and wish him all the best for his travels in the southern hemisphere. I highly recommend Calvin to other hosts.

There was a lack of communication in terms of next steps so I didn’t do a last minute cancellation I just did not attend because I won’t go anywhere without full information

In May/June 2026 i spent with Anna 2 great weeks. Her brick old house and beautiful large garden looked like Tuscany magic. Communication with Anna was always very good, and she was very nice to me. More like a friend than a host. She took me one time to Trasimeno lake or a festival in Bettolle. During my time i was also able to visit Siena and beautiful Montepulciano which i recommed visiting to everyone. 🙂

Nik is one of the kindest, most thoughtful people you could wish to meet. He took a genuine interest in everything that we are doing here and was constantly asking questions to fill gaps in his knowledge. He immediately synced in with the family, especially the kids, as well as other Workawayers, and it was a real pleasure to host him here. He worked fine either by himself or in a team, mainly clearing land for tree planting and then getting the actual trees into the ground, putting tree guards around them, working on difficult terrain. Nik gets a full 5-star rating, highly recommended!

My very first Workaway experience was with Freya and David, and I’m absolutely pleased with my choice. I had a great time on the farm – I learnt a lot and found it a very pleasant place to work – and I got on really well with Freya. I wish I could have stayed longer, but even in just a week and a half, this stay has already impacted me. Freya, thank you for everything and hopefully we’ll meet again in the future. 5 stars!!

Pei is an amazing person. She is a bundle of energy and creativity, and she is able to master so many things. On a typical day with Pei, you can see her painting, drawing, working with clay or wood, singing, or playing the ukulele. She is always in a good mood and brings the perfect vibes; she is very friendly and can connect with anyone without even speaking the same language. Pei will be always welcome here ♥️

Staying here was LITERALLY like a dream. I really enjoyed their doggies, natural pool, and village. Ines is the best host mom you could ask for, if/when you stay there you are in the best of hands. We formed a great bond and she even introduced me to her fun friends. I felt very welcomed and accepted here, and I was also able to practice and improve my spanish, which was one of my main goals. During my time here I also went to nearby towns and madrid center, all is very doable with the bus stop being so close to their house. Overall my stay was fantastic and I highly recommend visiting Ines in Nuevo Batzan

Aquí es un encantador hostal, pequeño, acogedor, donde realmente me senti en casa mientras hacia el voluntariado.... Camila y Christian estan siempre atentos, buscan que los voluntarios se sientan lo mejor posible, el intercambio es justo. Ademas el hostal esta muy bien ubicado en San Telmo y hay mucho por hacer... Recomiendo totalmente esta experiencia de voluntariado. Muchas gracias 🤗❤️

ho passato due mesi con cami e la sua famiglia e dal primo giorno mi sono sentita a casa. per la prima volta nella mia esperienza di volontariato non mi sono sentita solo come una "volontaria", ma come parte integrante della famiglia. cami è senza dubbio la host migliore incontrata finora, non solo è in grado di creare un ambiente lavorativo sano e comunicativo, ma ti fa sentire come un suo pari. i suoi genitori, i suoi fratelli e tutte le persone che lavorano al campeggio sono tra le più accoglienti mai incontrate e in poco tempo mi sono sentita parte di una grande famiglia. grazie all'energia di cami il lavoro non mi è mai sembrato faticoso o stancante, né l'ho percepito come un lavoro, ma come un'occasione per imparare e scoprire cose su un mondo che desideravo conoscere. cami non solo era sempre presente con noi durante le ore lavorative, ma ci includeva nel processo, spiegandoci quello che stavamo facendo e perché. da questa esperienza porto un bagaglio culturale nuovo e ampliato e un bellissimo ricordo. spero di tornare presto a trovarvi!

Jackson was an absolute pleasure to host. He is a warm, friendly and highly communicative young man who quickly became part of the daily life of our home. He approached every task with responsibility, dedication and a positive attitude, always willing to help and always carrying out his work to a very high standard. Beyond the work itself, Jackson is easy-going, sociable and genuinely enjoyable to live with. He brought great energy to the house and got along wonderfully with everyone around him. We would not hesitate for a second to recommend him to any future host. We feel very lucky to have met him and he will always be welcome here. Thank you, Jackson, for everything you contributed during your stay. We hope our paths cross again one day!

Sriram is a sincere and hardworking volunteer. He learns quickly, follows instructions well, and did an excellent job helping us with weed whacking and outdoor maintenance. His positive attitude, joyful personality, and easy-going nature contributed to a harmonious and productive environment. Sriram consistently showed willingness to help wherever needed and carried out his tasks with care and responsibility. We greatly appreciate his contribution and would be happy to welcome him back in the future.

I spent 8 days volunteering with Pat, Jean Pierre and Steven here and couldn't speak higher of the experience. From the moment I arrived, I was treated with respect and care and made to feel very comfortable in their living space. I was explained what was expected of me very clearly and shown around the property - this helped me settle into my stay seamlessly. It's evident that here they genuinely care about their guests. The hands-on work suited me perfectly. I worked for approx. 4-5 hours per day, gardening, cleaning, maintaining the forest, helping with the weekend's guests, etc. The balance of work and free time was great, leaving time for enjoying the serenity of their property, reading, cooking, hanging out with the pets, and more. Their home is beautiful. A perfect disconnect from high energy city life which I was seeking. I also valued being exposed to listening to and practicing speaking Spanish during my 8 days. We shared some nice conversations at the lunch table and over the weekend with Pat and Jean Pierres guests. Pat, Jean Pierre and Steven are all great, intelligent people and I will think back on my time spent here fondly. Highly recommend !!!

Luc is a quiet young man, he arrived on time and kept in touch on his journey here. He did some brilliant strimming work for us, he knew just what to do and just got on with it. We had some good conversation with him as well as some competitive and lively card games. He was fully immersed with our dogs which was nice to see and he took them out for long walks, enjoyed by Luc and the dogs. He also enjoyed the feeding and cleaning routines of our animal collection. He was very diligent.
