We live in a beautiful old renovated house surrounded by approx. 5000 square metres of fantastic garden, pasture and orchard with big beautiful trees. There are ten of us 😁: us, 2 children (11/13), 3 cats and 3 sheep. We live away from the hustle and bustle in a small village in the countryside, 5 minutes from the Baltic Sea by car/15 minutes by bike, which you can borrow, not far from the Camino circular route. You can take wonderful walks on natural beaches or swim, cycle past horses, Galloway cattle and small churches on small country roads and simply relax, because it is quiet and idyllic here, pure nature and country life. The North Sea is 1 hour away by car (Rømø) as is the German town Flensburg and you can also go on relaxing day trips, e.g. to the small island of Årø from the small harbour in Årøsund, not far from here. Bus stop 5 minutes away, half an hour by bus to Haderslev, a quarter of an hour by car. There are a lot of second hand shops around, we can take you there. Nearest airport: Billund. Nearest train station: Vojens, but we can also pick you up in Flensburg, depending on what day and time you arrive. There are many different bus routes from Haderslev, e.g. an Flixbus to Copenhagen.
We have moved to Denmark (from Germany) 3 years ago, because we fell in love with our charming house, the area, better schools and the less stressful way of living in our little village close to nature. But we could really do with some help now, as those were exciting and demanding years at the same time....and an old house and garden are always full of surprises. As the house has greedily eaten up our resources we could use some help to complete more tasks and fulfil dreams especially in the beautiful garden. I try to establish an organic vegetable garden, with varying success. 😉 The sheep need fences, this is an important project next year. We keep them as pets and malfunctioning lawnmowers 😂 and they are a great joy, bringing life back into the village, people think they are “hyggeligt“. 😍 But they are a lot of work without permanent fencing. Paint is needed in several places. So there are many different tasks, depending on what you do best, it won’t get boring.
The tasks do not involve looking after the kids, as I am at home. But of course you are welcome to spend quality time with us if you want to, e.g. we enjoy card and board games. We have already hosted 11 times, five with workaway, and it was a great pleasure to get to know different people.
We are still looking for help for next year and we also have a space for a camper van, see below.
I am happy to provide you with more information and fotos beforehand, just not happy to post a pic of my family -especially the kids -online.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

You will be welcomed into our family. We have lived in different countries ourselves and are happy to share our experiences, hear about yours and show you around as much as possible (keeping in mind that we are not on holidays).

From early spring onwards I need help to plant my garden with the historical roses that are still waiting in raised beds. It will be beautiful. There are also some little fruit trees, that need planting. The ground will be prepared but I can't dig the holes due to an injury. Good outdoor clothing is necessary. It doesn't get very cold here, but it's often windy, as we live not far from the Baltic Sea.
When it's raining and we can't work outside, there can be small repair tasks done inside the house or outbuilding or maybe some painting indoors, e.g. painting a small room and a little cellar with chalk paint, repairing little damages at the sheep's house. If you don't mind cleaning or other household chores, that would also be an alternative. It's also nice to take turns cooking. There is always something to do in a big house. But we will talk about it beforehand.
We expect 3-4 hrs a day/ 2 days off per week, depending on how physically demanding the work is.
From May onwards we are looking for people who are skilled in handicrafts (carpentry, bricklaying....), or who can put up permanent fencing for the sheep. Windows also need painting. A greenhouse needs to be assembled. A wooden potting bench repaired and painted. In April/May the kitchen garden takes centre stage.
A skilled bricklayer could for example also come in spring and finish a project and return later in summer on holiday with his family to enjoy the fruits of his labour. Please contact me for further details.Idiomas

We offer a nice clean room (with double bed) with a view of the garden and share our meals with you incl. one warm meal/day, but we don’t have the time to shop special foods or make extra dishes e.g. vegan, halal meat. (vegetarian is poss.- but only if you cook most days). We don't expect you to eat every meal together with us, e.g. we don't manage breakfast and every lunch together on weekdays.
We would like to take turns cooking, but only if you are happy to. Everyone helps to clean up after, which is not part of your work hours.
An extra bed for a child is possible, we can only accommodate two adults if they are happy to share the double bed. The kitchen and 2 bathrooms are shared with us. We expect you to clean up after yourself, but of course not the whole house.Algo más...
No smoking in the house, no parties or extra guests, no drugs, bad language and excessive drinking, as children live here.

You are welcome to park on the former drive behind the gate on our meadow. You can use our kitchen and bathroom, there ist also a socket and water supply in the garden. Well behaved dogs are welcome, just not in the house.
