Hello! My name is Zélie, I'm 27 years old and live in Belgium. I recently decided to leave my desk job and take a year to travel, discover new places and have some new experiences.

I love being outdoors and keeping busy. Hiking, being in the mountains and discovering new places are some of my favourite things to do. I’ve also recently picked up painting and ceramics, which I’ve really been enjoying.

During this year, I’m especially looking forward to learning some practical, hands-on skills, like gardening, farming, woodworking, DIY, building and so on.

I’m hoping to use Workaway as an opportunity to meet local people, experience everyday life, learn new skills and contribute along the way.

I don't have much experience with practical skills yet but I am happy to learn and usually pick up new things fast. I like to work hard, do things well and have no problem working independently. I do have some basic gardening, painting, cooking and DIY skills but looking forward to develop them further and learning by doing!

Through my experiences at work, co-housing, living abroad, and playing team sports, I am used to working and living together with others.

What else ...

I’m always up for a board game, a hike, cooking together, or trying something creative like painting or ceramics. I also enjoy most sports and have played basketball pretty much my whole life.

I speak dutch, french and english. I also learned some swedish while living in Sweden, but I have forgotten most of it by now! When travelling, I always enjoy learning a few words and sentences in the local language.
