Description
Hello there!
I'm Wiktor - an artist, language enthusiast and traveler with a deep curiosity for the world and the people in it. I thrive on new experiences and believe the best way to understand a place is to become a small part of it, ideally while helping others and sharing good company.
I'm not afraid to get my hands dirty and do solid work. I volunteered for six months at a hippotherapy center. I really enjoy working with animals, and not only to pet them; somebody has to shovel the poop and clean their hooves too! I love the outdoors and have recently been camping a lot on my own in the Polish forests. First times are always a little bit scary, but then you get used to it surprisingly quickly. I find a lot of things in life are like that. ;)
My main goal is to connect with new cultures on a deeper level. I'm currently focused on studying Japanese, as I fell in love with the country and hope to one day explore its more rural areas. My ideal Workaway is one where I can contribute meaningfully to your project, learn from your way of life and share a genuine cultural exchange.
I am new to Workaway, but I have done some Couchsurfing in the past. Here is my profile on BeWelcome: https://www.bewelcome.org/members/wiktorS
My skills include software development, taking care of animals, familiar with DIY, customer service and hospitality (I worked in a cafe as a barista). I am a quick learner and happy to help.
Thank you for reading about me! I hope I can be a part of your world and contribute to it.
All the best,
Wiktor.

I am a mostly self taught learner of english and japanese (work in progress). Of course some help here and there was in school, but most of my language gains I aquired by just using the language and working effectively a lot. Big fan of immersive learning and jumping into the language. We learn best when we are happy and doing something we enjoy, so both when I taught people and learned myself, I focused on making the process pleasant and interesting.
