Hi I'm 王一寻 (pronounced wángyīxún), and I also go by Frances.
My childhood was spent between the rural countryside of Frankfurt, Germany and the metropolitan city of Beijing, China. Which, to translate into my personality, results in a weird mix of outdoor fanatic and absolute nerd - meaning I fancy a nice week-long trek just as much as being a couch potato in pajamas, or going out with friends, or reading about how the Mongols established their cross-continental empire in the 13th century... But I like to say I'm discovering a new piece of myself everyday, which is also why I like traveling so much.
I am outgoing and extraverted when it comes to making friends and experiencing anything new, but I'm also personal and hope to take time and take care with relationships, be it with a place, a culture, or with persons. I love to hear about all the cute and crazy stories in the people I meet; this always reminds me of how adorable the world is with its diversity. Everyone is such an expansive world in themselves!
Currently I'm taking a year off school to explore the world, traveling, traveling, and traveling. So far, this has been the best decision of my life.

..And to answer the question prompt "what brings me happiness") I'd instinctively think of hiking up a subtropical mountain before twilight and reaching the summit just as the sun breaks from the horizon, then relaxing amongst buzzing cicadas (with bug repellent meticulously applied prior) and watching the world gradually brighten/wake up on the landscape below me.
*2023.11 edit to the above: I think now I'd rather hike up in the afternoon, spend the night on top of the mountain, and then watch the sunrise. Just so I don't lose sleep👍🏻Interests
