Description

Hello! My name is Timothy and I am from the US. I love to travel the world, explore different countries and cultures, and make new friends. I have visited or lived in more than 40 countries, and I spent most of 2025 in Nepal, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand. My profession is teaching English online, and during the past ten years I have taught approximately 15,000 online classes, primarily to students in mainland China. This job allows me to support myself as I travel the world, and I would like to continue teaching online (15-20 hours per week) while volunteering with Workaway. In addition to teaching, I have experience with lawncare and gardening, and I love being outdoors. I am a detail-oriented person and very happy to learn new skills. I am also a Christian and enjoy connecting with other believers as I travel. I have experience teaching English, doing lawn care, basic gardening and construction work, among other things. I also have many years of travel experience in more than 40 countries, and I am happy to learn additional skills as needed.

What else ...

Since I teach English online, having reliable electricity and internet is essential. I have my own Starlink Mini which I will bring with me, but it needs a reliable source of electricity to function. Also, since my students are in China (5 hours ahead of Kenya/Tanzania time), my classes would be in the afternoon from 1-5 pm (6-10 pm China time). Thus, I would be available to volunteer for several hours in the morning and possibly occasionally in the evening.
