  • Description

    Hey! We’re Tiana and Rory

We’ve recently upgraded to a couples account as we’re now travelling and working together. Both originally from the UK, we’ve been living in Canada for the past few years and have spent most of our time exploring beautiful BC. Right now we’re finishing up a dogsit on the Sunshine Coast and are looking for our next Workaway adventure. We’re available ASAP from the 25th September, for two weeks ideally.

We’re both snowboarders and skateboarders who love being outdoors, surrounded by nature, and meeting new people. Animals and housesits are something we really enjoy. We come with multiple references and lots of experience with different types of pets, especially dogs. I (Tiana) also grew up with reptiles and spent a lot of time in Serbia helping my family look after farm animals like chickens, ducks, goats, cats and dogs. So animals of all kinds have always been a big part of my life.

We’re both tree-planting vets as well, so we’re not afraid of hard work, long days, or getting our hands dirty. We’re happy to take on any type of exchange, whether it’s animal care, gardening, cooking, building projects, outdoor work, or just lending a hand wherever it’s needed.

Rory went to music school and is a qualified teacher in both drums and guitar. He’s also open to teaching surfing and skateboarding, so he’s always happy to share his skills with others. I (Tiana) am bilingual in English and Serbo-Croatian, and I’m also a keen cook who loves experimenting in the kitchen and learning new recipes. I also have of experience in restaurant management and event planning. We'd happily do work exchanges where any of our skills can be put to use, but we're also always open to trying new things and learning new skills! Whether it’s animal care, outdoor sports, music, cooking, or something completely new to us, we’re always excited to give it a go.

We’re both confident, open-minded, and really enjoy meeting new people. We’ve each had the chance to live pretty nomadic lives in Canada and are now enjoying combining our skills and experiences together through Workaway. Between the two of us we can offer a good balance of creativity, hard work, enthusiasm, and fun.

We’d love to chat with you more and see if we’d be a good fit for your project or home! :)

  • More details about your skills

I am skilled in a multitude of areas, both within the personal and professional sectors. To begin, I'd like to highlight the fact that every job I have worked thus far I have had to communicate face-to-face with lots of different people everyday. I've had the pleasure of working alongside those from a variety of cultures and backgrounds. I am confident and outgoing, and find it comes naturally when making new friends from all walks of life.
When it comes to typical daily duties, I can clean to a very good standard and I cook with skill and ease. I cook different foods everyday and enjoy experimenting with new styles of cooking, and with different flavours and ingredients from all over the world. I have a certificate in vegetarian fine dining from Le Cordon Bleu.
I have been sewing (cross-stitching) since I was young and am quick and efficient when doing so.
I have owned pets all of my life, including dogs, cats, snakes, lizards and birds, and have a good knowledge regarding the care of each. I am passionate when it comes to working with animals and learning new things about them. I look forward to being able to experience the wildlife that resides in Canada in a closer proximity.
Although I may lack experience when it comes to hands-on work such as building, I am a hard-working individual and am very eager to learn all that you are willing to teach me!
Additionally, I am cocktail trained and am able to look after a bar with confidence. I have spent many years waitressing and bar-tending, and am able to do so comfortably. Most recently I work as the assistant general manager of a restaurant.
Before travelling to Canada, I worked in the Finance sector, specialising in Pensions and undertook some exams to further my knowledge and experience. This is something I aim to work a full-time career in once I have travelled more extensively
I am also fluent in both English and Serbo-Croat, and would be willing to assist in teaching either of these to those who are willing to learn.
