  • Description

Hi! I’m a university student studying dentistry, and during uni breaks I love travelling in a way where I can meet new people, and immerse myself in a new culture!

I’ve spent the last few years working with kids, which is something I really enjoy. I’ve been a tutor for about 3 years (with students aged 5–18), and I also lived in Spain for 7 months as an au pair, helping two girls learn english English.

I grew up surrounded by nature, and I spend my free time exploring new places, hiking, going to the beach, and finding new waterfalls nearby. I lovee animals, and have two dogs, a cat, a parrot, and chickens at home, so I feel very comfortable in places with animals and a more rural lifestyle.

I’ve been learning Spanish for almost a year, and would really love to keep improving and fully immerse myself. I really want to share my culture, learn from others, and have a genuine cultural exchange.

More details about my language interests
I’ve been learning Spanish for almost a year, but my interest in it actually started a long time ago. I travelled to South America with my family when I was 6, where I learnt small phrases and was fascinated by the language. Since then, it’s always been something I’ve wanted to come back to, and I’ve finally started learning it properly :) There is so much importance and value in learning a second language — not just for communication, but to really understand people, culture, and different ways of life. That’s a huge reason as to why I want to push myself out of my comfort zone, and challenge myself to improve. For me, the best way to learn is through real immersion, so I’m really motivated to throw myself into it and learn as much as I can. At the same time, I really enjoy helping others with English. Through tutoring and my experience as an au pair, I’ve found that I love teaching and helping people feel more confident using English. I would love the opportunity to have the exchange of it — learning from others while sharing my own language — I think that would make the experience so meaningful.

  • More details about your skills

Most of my experience is working with and teaching children. I’ve been a tutor for the past 3 years, teaching students aged 5–18, so I’m comfortable adapting to different ages, personalities, and learning styles. Over that time, I’ve developed strong communication skills, patience, and the ability to explain things in different ways depending on the student. I’ve also learned how to build confidence in students, keep them engaged, and create a positive and supportive learning environment rather than something that feels stressful or rigid!

I also spent 7 months as an au pair in Spain, where I helped two girls with their English and homework. My experience really englightened me into how much I adore teaching, being a part of a family, and cultural exchange. It provided me with invaluable experience teaching English to non-native speakers, especially helping them understand and use English naturally in everyday situations rather than just through formal exercises.

I’m not a formal teacher, but I am confident helping others learn and practise English, and I really thrive in creating a comfortable environment where people feel encouraged to try and improve.

Aside from teaching, I’m very adaptable and easy-going, and excited to help out wherever I can! During my time as an Au Pair, I loved being part of my host family’s daily life, learning how they do things, and sharing my own culture too. I enjoy helping out around the house and just getting involved in a different cultures daily life. I like feeling part of a team, and find it interesting to learn the cultural differences in how people live.

I also really enjoy being outdoors and spending time in nature and with animals. I grew up in a very animal and nature-filled environment, so I feel very comfortable helping out with animals and a more rural lifestyle.

  • What else ...

I’ve been a dancer for 16 years, dance has always been a big part of my life. I love really just anything that involves music and movement, it is such a groovy way to have fun, connect and express yourself.

I come from a family of 7, and so I’m very used to being around people and sharing spaces. Growing up we had board game nights every Friday, which is so nostalgic to me, and something I really miss now, so count me in on games and anything social!

I also really enjoy cooking and baking, and I’m always happy to help in the kitchen or cook for others. I’d love to learn new recipes and share some of my own as well!
